Unless we know what went on in the build up we don't know if it was football related or not, it could have been a coincidence they were football fans from rival clubs or that could have been the very cause of it all. Presumably the courts heard the evidence and decided it was, as individuals that haven't heard the evidence we can either accept that or take the cynical view that football is being unfairly targeted.
True, although it's only unfair if you haven't done anything wrong, if you punch a bloke from behind in the street because he supports a different football club you deserve everything you get.
People are arrested before and after games all the time, it's not just when you're at the game that disorder is classed as football related. Which asks the question, how long after a game does rival fans fighting become just blokes fighting on a night out? By your definition the Russians that attacked England fans in the streets at the Euros weren't involved in football violence because it happened days before their games.
Go read your own posts again, one minute you are saying they got what they deserved, then we don't know all the facts. Was it a 7 year football ground ban? but it happened 6 hours after the game and far away from the ground, as i said maybe a drinking and going to clubs ban would be more appropriate.
Watch the video, the got what they deserved. We don't know if it was football related or not, but if giving them a banning orders adds to their punishment and pisses them off then that's a result. I agree with you though ban them from city centre nightlife spots too.
I'm ashamed to be associated in any way to those lads. Why? Because they are a proper bunch of ****ing pansies, that 'Boro lad in the white swedged the **** out of how many of them? A whole load of 'em were laying into him when he was on the deck and he still got up and they ran off. Disgraceful performance, shamed the whole city as that. How anyone can say it wasn't football related without hearing everyone's account as to what instigated the off makes no sense either. OB- So why did you assault the bloke in the white shirt. Answer- Because he was 'Boro and I'm in the Silver Cod Squad. It had to be done. City aggro and all that. OB- Oh.
You're right here. There's nothing to suggest it wasn't football related. There were plenty of witnesses and I'm sure they all heard what was being said. Did the Boro fannies get charged too?
Nobody's questioning the fact that they got what they deserved and nobody gives a **** about how harsh the penalty was. The only issue was, was this pissed up lads having a scrap in a club, or was it a football related event. We don't know, but it seems tenuous to link the two and if it was football related, where's the charges for the lads from Boro, it wasn't City fans fighting each other and they certainly looked up for it?
My only question is about the football banning order as for the rest they got what they deserved. The tenuous link to football got them the banning order, they may just as well have taken their driving licences off them. Statistically Hull City has just moved up the league table for football violence.
Those sentences aren't in the slightest bit harsh. When I was in the daft and barmy I managed to avoid the long arm of the law despite being in a few situations like the one on that CCTV. Mainly because I was, like the lads on that CCTV, a bit of a fairy. It wasn't my bag but it is what young squaddies do, they get pissed up and start scrapping and to a far better standard than those tarts outside of Waterfront. They take pride in their work. Certainly not anything to be proud of, the opposite in fact. Some of mates weren't so canny and got locked up, a few on numerous occasions, for acts of gratuitous violence. Got far worse sentences than the ones handed out to those Herbert's. Didn't moan about it though. Live by the sword, die by the sword.
I got twatted by a bouncer outside of waterfront in. Full view of a load of coppers. Blood streaming as I staggered up. As the copper walked up the bouncer says this ****s assaulted me. Copper takes one look and says you better be on your way before we nick you for assault.
Up to 2 years in prison for a drunken brawl? Nonsense, happens in every city every weekend, magistrates, weeks wages fine, done. hold on, lets call it football related, prison. Wonder if the Rovers "hooligans" will be getting prison for last weekend.
