Having just watched Match of the Day it got me thinking, do City do much in training and do they scout the opposition before they play them? Our set pieces are horrific. You'd have thought that the sides expected to struggle would try and gain as much advantage as possible like the Stoke side of old. The direct free kicks remind me of school when the lad with the biggest mouth would take it, hence our free kicks hit the wall or end up high in the stand. I'm sure Andy Dawson and Geovanni practiced free kicks to the hilt after training, do our current players? When was the last time we looked a threat from a corner? Most of the time the ball doesn't beat the first man. Is it a case that we don't have as many 'big' men when the ball actually makes its way into the box? Throw ins should be better, maybe taken quicker as most of the time we give the ball back to the opposition within seconds. The main thing that prompted my post was the commentator pointing out that Gardner was known for his ability to shoot from distance, if we know that McGregor is dubious on long shots and Shelvey has scored from the odd long shot why don't we close him down quicker? Do we not scout future opposition to find out what their player strengths are? Why don't they pull Livermore aside and get him to practice shooting? He regularly finds himself in great positions and you're urging him to shoot yet he attempts the pass and the chance has gone. I wouldn't have a clue what goes on each day at training though as a fan it's frustrating seeing the same problems occur regularly.
do not despair the misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of a teams progress, the hate of fans will pass and the dictator will die and the power they took from the fans will return to the fans
I agree with pretty much all of this, I have no idea why we don't make the most of our set pieces. I don't know how the players choose, I always thought our best free kick takers were Jelavic and Huddlestone, Brady scored a couple and Ramirez, N'Doye and Robertson are supposed to be pretty handy. It might be an inaccurate assumption, but I'd have thought that the players who can cross the ball, like Elmo and Robertson, should be the ones to take a free kick or corner, it's the same kind of motion with the foot. Our corners don't usually beat the first man, so why don't we stick a big player on the near post? We seem to lazily list around the six yard area, the opposition stick a man on the near post and that's it, job done. Our throw ins are the worst, in fact I can't remember a time when they've been any good. What really annoys me is when a player is about to take a throw in and the full back trots over, the player drops the ball and the full back picks it up. Does it actually matter who takes the throw in?! We don't do a long throw tactic anyway, so surely it doesn't make a difference whether N'Doye or Elmohamady take it? Huddlestone can really twat a ball, he used to do it all the time at Spurs so I can only imagine Bruce has told him to stop shooting as much and play it out wide to the wingers.
Read up to the first comma, ignored the rest due to it agreeing with ****e such as "do city do much in training and do they scout the opposition".
Fair enough, but you probably should've read the rest. It's right. And I did say 'pretty much' all of this, to give myself room for manouvre.
Something I have noticed home and away is how at half time, our players go on the pitch and just pass the ball in twos and threes but other teams have sent coaches out for specific drills.
Despite what you think of him, in your drunken state, that's still a ****ing stupid thing to say considering we aren't even bottom 3 at the moment and the season isn't over.
im not drunk and okay.. because we didn't play liverpool this weekend so our goal difference didn't go down, we aren't bottom 3.. bruce is a **** manager and you know it
We should list everyone who likes & dislikes Bruce! then put the list up at the end of the season and see who looks the ****s? Bruce best manager we've ever had for me!
