Striker Michael Chopra is lnked to us apparently! http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/BRISTO...mour-linking/story-26841366-detail/story.html
Chopra's been playing in Scotland, so he probably wants to work nearer South Wales. He had a few issues a few years ago, so he's probably also trying to get his career back on track. He's not very prolific either...
That's a good club for him to join IMO they got one of the best supports outside the league could of been worse he could of ended up at Bath or Mangotsfield like so many others
I seem to remember something about Chopra not being too complimentary towards Oldham Athletics Training methods a while back !, I wonder if he had of rocked up here what he would of made of our regime ?
Rovers have today confirmed that Jamie Lucas and Danny Greenslade have signed new contracts that keeps them at the club for a further year. Manager Darrell Clarke was pleased that the two youngsters had put pen to paper on a new deal and said: “Both spent time on loan at other clubs last season and that certainly aided their development and now the challenge for them is to push hard for a first team place.” Chairman Nick Higgs added: “It’s always nice to be able to offer contracts to youngsters who have spent time in our Academy as Jamie and Danny did before signing their pro contracts last summer. We received excellent reports on them from the clubs they were on loan at last season and now they are on the cusp of our first team and I wish them every success for next season.” Both have just completed their first year as professionals after two years as scholars and both went out on loan last season. Swansea born Jamie was actually brought up in Bromsgrove and spent a season with Bristol Rovers Central, an outreach Development Group of the club based in Henley in Arden. A prolific striker for our youth team, he completed two years as a scholar in the summer of 2014, although he had been offered a pro deal at the end of his first year, following an outstanding season for our U-18 side in 2012/13 when they completed a league and cup double. He made his Rovers debut in our home game against Rochdale on 21st May 2014, when going on as a late substitute at the Memorial Stadium. Jamie spent time on loan at Gloucester City last season as well as two loan spells with Weston super Mare. Danny, another graduate of our Academy, has been with the club since he was 10 years of age and worked his way up through every age group from that point. He was also a member of the U-18 side that clinched a league and cup double in 2012/13. A left back, he was offered a pro contract after spending two years as a scholar. Danny spent time on loan at Mangotsfield United and Truro City last season. http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news...s-greenslade-2531388.aspx#fdlAruyWCsEeIvWA.99
As we have now lost the court case against Sainsbury's II think we can forget about making the playoffs and settle for mid table as the funds will not now be available for new players, Being Gasheads we didn't really think we would win did we
We've already got a decent squad. I think we'll do well and the playoffs, at least, are achievable. DC will probably add a couple of loan signings, but we've got a good group of players - winners and leaders...
IMO DC has a particular priority for players that he wants to have in his squad. He wants to be sure that any new introduction to the club has the right attitude and will be respectful of his requirements and hence not only play for the shirt but respect DC's values on and off the field. LDV would seem to be a good example of DC's point of view. A player who was without question an extremely talented player. But did he always give 100% to play to the best of his potential and was he a good example of DC's requirements in the dressing room? Questionable! Hence we did not sign him. AD would appear to be a different matter. He was obviously disappointed not to be able to play at Wembley. But he did turn up and support the team. So let's hope we hear better news for him.
Is Adam Dawson still on the cards? He was MoM for Kidderminster v Birmingham recently and scored a great goal.
I see on twitter that as of 22nd July he doesn't appear to have been offered a contract by Kidderminster, but I could be wrong. Why would he sign for them if DC is showing an interest?
