I guess we have two reasons to hope Napoli go through, as Nice being in the Europa League allows a Levying for Seri.

There's a new technology joke in there somewhere, but I'm way behind the times in such things.

Did anyone tell the bloke making the poster for the Ajax/Heracles match that it was for a football match, not a film in the Clash of the Titans cinematic universe?

Not Europa related but feast your eyes on these Humanbeingincroydon. Lewes FC (pronounced Lewis not lose) which is down here near Brighton put a lot of effort into their matchday posters. They have had some crackers over the years:

My personal favourite is 'Dr Lewes and Mr Hythe'.

The stuffy ol' Premiership could take a leaf out of their book!

Born and bred in Lewes, went to school there and still visit frequently. My old granddad took me to see the Rooks for the first time when I was 3. I cried at half time and wanted to go home!

Great to see the Rooks still going. A few years back they had a manger who had connections with the goons. He signed a few goon rejects and moved up a few leagues but were paying silly wages. Not sustainable for a side that get a few hundred people watching every week. They nearly went tits up. The fans took over and the manager was gone. He went to Havant and Waterlooville and took them to Anfield to meet the mousers in the FA Cup. They lost 5-2 but lead the mousers twice during the match.

Hate to be pedantic but this would be closer to the era of The Iliad (Ajax) and one generation before (Heracles)

Astana's farther East than Iran. Really pushing the whole Europe thing with that one.

It's close to the Russian border with North Korea and you have to head West to get to China.
They'd have shorter trips if they played in the J-League, rather than their own.

250 mile trip to Blyth Spartans! <laugh>
To be fair to them, they'd have had a slightly longer trip to Truro in the Southern league.
A lot more local ones though, so it does seem a bit odd, doesn't it?

For reasons that will soon become apparent, FC Copenhagen have sent an official protest to UEFA about the violent conduct of Qarabag captain Maksim Medvedev

Here's the reason why it will soon become apparent...

Even though the incident is as open and shut as it gets, especially as it left Pierre Bengtsson looking like somebody who'd been elbowed in the face before being tagged with a wild haymaker (mainly because he had) the referee did not award Copenhagen a free kick, nor did Medvedev receive a booking - let alone the straight red it clearly deserved.

UEFA will review the incident on Thursday, hopefully taking action before Medvedev kills again.
