    Plenty of dubbin used to keep the water out. Those studs were lethal when bits of the leather came off showing bare nails. How would modern players survive without dancing slippers for boots and an 8 ounce waterproof ball??

    Forgotten all about that stuff. Still used for hiking boots.

    I doubt the players now would get their feet off the ground. <laugh>
