So...popped the question on Saturday night and she said yes. (Cue the lifetime of unhappiness comments!)

However, struggling to think of some venues for the wedding, that I've not been to someone's wedding at, lazaat, millhouse, tickton etc.

Has anyone on here been to any good venues for someone's wedding in the hull or east riding area that would be worth a look?

remind her indoors that it isnt WHERE you get married, its WHO you marry thats the most important.
then suggest a wedding at the KCOM.

    um congrats btw

I wouldn't go to Cave Castle it's pretty run down and a bit crap, or it was when I last went.

I quite like Rudstone Walk. The number of guests you can have is limited but for the views alone it is mightily impressive.

It depends largely on your budget? I got married at Rudding Park near Harrogate - Very KERCHING!

Went to my nieces wedding at Tickton Grange last year. Lovely gardens setting for the photo's and the service was conducted in the main suite. Reception food was excellent and the bar service was good. The night do was pretty good too with a decent disco and a hog roast. There was even the sweet cart for the kids. Could do a lot worse but I reckon they spent around £5 grand for a Friday. Apparently Saturdays are around £10 grand. Congratulation BTW.

Daughter got married at Rise Hall
Amazing time (we had it for the weekend) but also amazingly pricey
4 years ago now and we booked it before they put the prices up, a lot, so were lucky to get it at the cheaper price as it had gone up massively between the booking and the wedding

Organisers there are exceptional and the place is incredible

Slight aside, but I'd recommend taking out wedding insurance. I didn't even know it existed, and thankfully we didn't need it, but do know people who've been let down by venues either going out of business or putting up prices when you're committed. Given how expensive it will be regardless of venue it's well work looking at

Saw a lass t'other week who I went to uni with. Single now. Married a rovers player just after we left
Uni. Split up 4 years later. Cost about 14 grand all told. Do was at Lazaat.
    What a waste of money.

Congrats by the way. Unless your mam and dad or her mam and dad are loaded don't bother. Get your, house sorted and spend it on the honeymoon and not on a load of freeloading family members you don't know or don't really want to see.

That's not bad advice Chazz. You can do a lot with £10-£12K. Close friends and family in a nice restaurant is enough.

You will be unable to recreate our wedding day I'm afraid

We got married at a church in Anlaby which is now turned into flats...and the reception was at Charleston Club

...so you'll have to think of something else

Aye agreed. And have a do on the night to get the presssies.

Always remember the lass telling me about the planning, obviously while I stared at her tits, if she wanted the special covers on the chairs it was an extra 600 quid!! But as they matched the center piece she just had to...
