Club statement about Adam Dawson.... Bristol Rovers are hoping to conclude the loan signing of Leicester City midfielder Adam Dawson tomorrow morning. The player has been in Bristol today and has met manager Darrell Clarke and members of the Rovers squad. There appear to be no major obstacles to the deal, but until it is approved and signed off at the Leicester end we are unable to make any further comment. http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/article/transfer-update-2199357.aspx#ZzRHWMTy5me0fMlV.99
Also the deal is a 1 month loan deal which can be extended to the end of the season if he does well and if all parties are happy. Seems good. If it dont work out im sure Della-Verde will be ready to return?
Having Della Verde as well would make are squad a lot stronger and mean for competition for places can't see him coming back though
I will be very surpirsed if LDV joins us as well. I think he will now only come if Dawson doesnt impress and his loan ends after the month and not extended.
DC said about Dawson: “Adam is a player who knows the division and his background with Leicester City will stand him in good stead. He’s been at Nuneaton this season where he picked up quite a few Man of the Match Awards and did really well. When we were preparing reports for our game against Nuneaton his name frequently cropped up as being their danger man, so when he became available we decided to take him on a month’s loan with a view to extending it until the end of the season if all goes well. A midfield player, he plays predominantly on the right and gives us another option in an area of the pitch I think we needed to strengthen." Chairman Nick Higgs added: "I would like to welcome Adam to Bristol Rovers and wish him every success whilst he is with us. Adam is an exciting prospect who has played at this level already this season, which will stand him in good stead for the time he is with us.” http://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news...loan-signing-2197969.aspx#qdbdmCdXZypB4lmq.99
he seems very level headed for a youngster and not bothered at all to learn his trade in non league. good attitude. should go well with the rest of the squad.
Check out 'Proud to be a Gashead' on Facebook - in their 'Welcome Adam Dawson' post, they've accidentally put up a picture of Karl Pilkington instead of one of Adam!
good player but needs good players around him. if he had signed for us, i wouldnt be too disappointed. but rather have easter though. gash is a good signing for them i think.
yep but played with blissett though before he was loaned out to nuneaton from kidderminster. his loan spell ended, kidderminster couldnt afford his wages so released him and now barnet has snapped him up.
On the subs bench just now on the bristol channel, DC just said we havent paid a single penny for Dawson. Nothing towards wages. He is here for a month and if he does well and we want to keep him on loan for the rest of the season then we will pay something then. Good deal says I. Here is the DC and Easter interview....
I think this is a good deal, especially if you are not paying his wages http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Dawson_(footballer)
