Well yeah I didnt mean he was right about that part, just everything else. Although in saying that I do think Watford will struggle and that he won't be there come May.
The pre-game atmosphere for the Sunderland game was very nervy. One of the main subjects all that week was how we'd twice cocked up in similar situations in 2 previous PL campaigns. Typical City, as we say.
Watford are 4th favourites to go down so obviously its not just Merson that thinks they'll struggle. I don't think its that ridiculous a prediction to make, they were poor for most of last season and their squad isn't any stronger now.
If we'd just signed Cleverley, Hughes and Chalobah, I'd think our squad was stronger. They may struggle, they may not, but I think they're a long way from being relegation certainties.
They weren't anywhere near good enough to stay up and deserved to go down. The last 3 games where dreadful efforts. 13 goals ffs.
In total fairness I think that by the point that we faced Sunderland, which was our obvious downfall, Marco had realised just how much of a **** Ehab is, and he knew that if we survived that he'd face a minimum of another 12 months of working with him. I think that he was more than happy to lose to Sunderland. Should this be in the conspiracy thread?
