I ask as I fell asleep last night at 9pm and have just woken up. That's 10.5 hours and I feel ****ing awesome. I remember after a rave in the nineties sleeping for around 15 hours once so that will likely be my record.
once slept for 24 hours, but that was due to the medication (sleeping tablets - Doctor prescribed) I had went 3 days and 3 nights with out sleeping felt like **** when I woke up though
I woke up after 2 days (in hospital) after 3 cockneys introduced my head to the front grill of a range rover.
Damn, I was going to say that. Well not 6'1"... At least I read to the end of the thread before posting though..
I just had a solid 9.5 which is good for me. I remember in my early twenties it'd be 10 hours every Friday night. Alas I normally wake up early at work time now even at weekends
I'm lucky to get 7 now, always dialed in for an early start with work. Still do 10hrs after a heavy session but its not proper sleep is it. I have slept 15 plus back in the day after mammoth sessions with a variety of stimulants. Normally after being on the go from Thursday through to Sunday morning, playing football Saturday and Sunday morning, taking ephedrine to get me through sometimes, then crashing beyond belief after my Sunday dinner at 1pm and waking up at 8am for work.
Once slept for over 21 hrs thanks to Tramadol medication then felt a zombie for a further 24 hrs. Now get 6½ hrs regardless due to body clock not realizing I retired 5 years ago.
I remember one New Year's Eve in London (back in '80/'81) when I was steamrollering drunk in Trafalgar Square, snogged a few policewomen, swam in each of the fountains (as one could do in those days) which was awful as I didn't allow for six inches of pigeon **** at the bottom of each fountain. On the train back I was given half a bottle of Teachers by a chap in the luggage rack above my head which I demolished in the time it took to get from Victoria to East Croydon. I vaguely remember the taxi ride back which would have been about half past two in the New Year and then woke up in the bath around 11am on the second of January.
10 hours after a couple of days of 3 hour sleeps. I try to get 8 hours most days. Most people stay on their laptops and phones late at night and think they only need 5-6 hours, but the extra 2-3 really makes a huge difference.
Tips for those who want to sleep better. 1. Exercise mate. Tired people sleep longer. 2. Get off your computer at least an hour before you go to bed, unless you're listening to some relaxing music or an asmr vid. 3. No afternoon/night coffee or energy drinks. 4. Eat a higher fat/protein meal later on in the day keep your carbs for earlier in the day. 5. Meditation/Asmr videos. Seriously helps calm your mind down. 6. Watch something reasonably interesting but not too intense on TV. Enough to keep your attention but not enough to draw you in too much so you want to see the end. If you wander off into thinking you'll stay up way too late. Or open a window so you can focus on the wind or rain outside. Just don't go to bed in silence. You mind will keep you up if you're not shattered enough to fall straight asleep. Definitely helps brah.
Not sure if you know, but I'm bipolar, mate. It's a little different, but still, some good tips there. 'Just don't go to bed in silence' that's interesting...
