Simple question based on the approach for their manager.

Wasn't it Gary Johnson to Fulham a few years back?

Surely at some point in our checkered history we must have had at least one manager who was worthy of an approach. Or did we?

Joe Jordan was poached by Hearts, that I can remember.
But I suspect there was enquiries with Johnson that maybe some of us don't know about, and possibly Danny Wilson who was really pre internet coverage.
But in fairness apart from Johnson and Wilson most of our managers lasted possibly average 18 months. Maybe if Cotterill was still with us and we had a comfortable finish this season he might of been approached as there was rumours some teams was noticing him last summer.

Gorman went to England job with Hoddle and Jordan to Hearts other than that I dont remember a manager leaving us for better things. Fair play to Clarke though if he is offered the job at Leeds.

It's an incredible statistic that no manager since I've watched City has been spirited away.

Even now Leeds want the Sag manager above our head coach.
Still the tide always turns down Weston, lets hope Junior bucks history.

Wasn't the Hearts job a prerequisite for his ambition to become the Scotland manager ?
Pub football was hardly a step up though.
Fonts is now a cup winner and although Junior was a sub, even he has one.

If this is a Dig at our club because Clarke has been approached by Leeds, I would suggest that you should consider that He was taken from a non league club (something that would have caused uproar on here had we done it!) in Salisbury. Given enough time even after a disastrous relegation to non league to redeem himself and he has achieved with that time given to him (something that would not have been given from our fanbase) the reward of two consecutive promotions.

Now I do accept that it was probably more a financial decision than astute management practice, but it proves that time and patience can reap rewards, rather than ****ing criticising at the first sign of the slightest lull in form.
