Given our propensity to sell our best players at the slightest hint of a profit I began to think about our shirt sponsor and perhaps we should have one that reflected the clubs philosophy and came up with this list: Harrods or Fortnum and Mason - where the super rich shop Sainsbury - the nations favourite grocer and we seem to be the nation's favourite place to buy footballers (perhaps Waitrose will drop Reading in favour of us as we more suit their trading background) The Stock Exchange - isn't that where all the big deals take place NASDAQ - for the same reason Dutch player imports are all the rage at the moment so perhaps we should take another idea from the Dutch and do as they do in Amsterdam. We should install a row of shop windows along the front of St Marys and when our players are not training they can sit in the window scantily clad to show their physique with the light subdued to hide any imperfections and then scouts from other clubs can walk along looking in the windows and drooling all down their chins with envy and desire.
The very lovely Mrs Godders took me there. She said it would spice things up a bit bedroom wise. It was also where she bought those fluffy bloody handcuffs.
I still have an Atari game system....didn't let my son throw it away. Might be collectable....if I live to be 110.
I do wonder why we don't have more recognisable name as shirt sponsor. That or stick with a local firm. trant? Or back to Draper?
Indeed, and as admirable as it is, if we want to progress as the club say we do then that needs to change imo.
So do I. I'm just saying if we want to progress as the club says we do then we need to drastically improve our commercial income. I do really like the fact we use local companies, but if we want to move on to 'the next level' then we need a bigger deal. Anyone know what VEHO are paying?
