Maybe later, Moyes is a good manager and should be given a proper crack at it. If he loses the dressing room as well as the matches then I'd have Allardyce back.
No, he`s finished himself now. We`d be constantly under the microscope. We may be investigated anyway with his transfer dealings here.
No taking people back hardly ever works, but I still don't think it will be long before we are looking for another manager.
No way. He was off as soon as he saw a better offer, dropping us in it. And he's shown himself up. My dream scenario would be; Bilic inexplicably continues to lose games and gets sacked by West Ham. Moyes continues in his current vein, boring everyone to death and failing to motivate our lot into winning games and Ellis finally calls it a day on him. In sweeps Slaven, like a tactful di Canio, sorts us out and we zoom up the table. Done!
Mine would be Ellis meets Pep while he's having a pint and he begs Ellis to let him manage Sunderland and he says gan on then and I will chuck in 2 billion to get you going.
Hmmm I'm not sure about Bilic he seems to have lost the plot at West Ham and they have a quality squad. I'd rather have Moyes turn us around starting this weekend.
Got what he always wanted ?,and got what he deserved imo, walking out on us without a backward glance. Its got to be a reluctant NO for me.
I voted 'yes' as i think he was a perfect fit for you guys. It's only been 67 days and in all honesty if Ellis was tempted (and i don't think he is) then a draw or loss this weekend could get the ball rolling. Sam would a) keep you up despite your start (again) b) bring Khazri back into the fold c) Buy well in January again Ultimately I think you'd evolve into a mid-table side rather than one facing relegation every season. Pride can come second, he left you for the England job - this isn't Bent going off to Villa or Gyan chasing the dollar in the outback somewhere.
I think its just a blip at West Ham. They'll turn it round. I love the bloke, shows some passion. Unlike a certain Mr Moyes.
Interesting point but remember Shorts parting shot was that he wanted Moyes 2 managers ago. I don`t think he would swallow his pride somehow.
True but how many teams do you think would take Sam right now and how many managers do you think would take on Sunderland right now?
It's like having a lass who was perfect for you leave you for another bloke, and then them breaking up after two weeks. You'd probably take her back but you'd look like a right twat for doing it.
I reckon they had Sam in their sights for some time but when he got the England job it could not have worked out better story wise. They would eventually may have trapped him and we could have the same case on our hands at club level. Either way he has fouled his nest, just glad it was not ours.
Sam eventually got his squad playing and winning but early part of his reign was mired with poor performances and the same kind of individual errors that we're seeing now, and saw under others before him. Even if BSA was to come back ( and I wouldn't want him to - we've moved on ) it would take time for him to get this new batch of players integrated and playing well. We've got to have a period of stability and hope that we've got enough to survive and start to build - again.
As @grandpops has said, there is still a lot more news still to be published with 8 premier league managers and 2 international managers involved in similar activities. This could just be the start of a big s*** storm.
