I'd pick any one of about 50 Chris Chilton scored during his career. The one Elliott scored against Swansea was a classic too.
Elliott one of my favourite players from recent City history. He was outstanding - great choice for headed goal.
Michael Dawson's match winner against Liverpool. About 45 seconds in: http://www.beinsports.com/en/football/video/video---dawson-the-hero-as-rodgers-men-stumbl/13966
Chris Chilton v Leicester 70/71, South Stand goal. City won 3-0. Cross from Butler and Chilton header from just inside the area flew into the top corner. 'TERRYS TIGERS TOPPLE TABLE TOPPERS. Green Sports Mail headline.
Whitehurst vs Derby to win 3-2 after been 2-0 down, in front of North 'terrace'. With 10 men, East stand as good as it got on that day. A Kevin Francis bullet header, same goal, no idea vs who. If I could head the ball like him, I'd still be playing for England even now
edit: wrong game, thought it was the cousin one cousin against arsenal at home also im sure fagan scored a great header at home to them either same season or the season brown got sacked and we narrowly lost

loved the way stuart elliott floated in mid-air for ages before heading goals. i remember a billy whitehurst one, no idea who against, probably from a corner, and as it came over, with feet firmly on the ground at the penalty spot he smacked it so hard with his concrete forehead that by the time it hit the net, some 15 yards later, it hadn't started to dip downwards. without the net to stop the ball, there'd have been deaths in the south stand.
Bob Dewhurst against Luton in the FA Cup for me. They were flying high in the league above us, we were rock bottom of the entire football league and hadn't yet started the Great Escape. The resulting win (2-1) seemed to galvanise us and we all know what happened next. It was right in front of the away fans and, to make it even sweeter from a personal point of view, I was at uni in halls of residence and the guy living opposite me was a Luton fan. Happy days.
I might either be making this up or losing my memory but didn't Steve Deere score one at the back post from a corner with his hand? Andthere was a picture of it in the programme the next week as a great headed goal to win the game...
Before opening the thread, I thought Ashbee v Palace and there you have it as the first one. Cousin's winner at the Emirates will always be up there too.
Technicaly it wasn't a City player. But David Nash brilliant diving headed own goal from a City corner v Leceister
My memory might be a bit wrong here .. but i remember Jon 'the beast' Parkin getting the winner (1-0) against the white shyte many moons ago .. think that was a header although as I said my memory is crap .. any winning goal against them is a bonus Edit .. just checked my memory amazingly was correct .. 1st April 2006 .. get in
If someone called Pink Floyd agrees, then it was as good as I remember. Fantastic game, Bobby Mcneill was sent off when 2 0 down, but one of those games we just knew we were going to win. Kempton was 11th. 12th and 13th man. That game is up there in my top few despite all that has happened since,
Seemed like a massive game at the time - att. 9,872. Derby were aristocracy slumming it in Div 3, but we had that unmistakable promotion momentum. Happy crowd poured on at the end to celebrate that late unlikely win, and amazingly no ground closure, points deduction, hefty fine or traumatized families.
