As the title says - where do you think City will end up at the end of the season - feel free to share your thoughts on how you voted and why?
I'm a half glass full kinda guy - so I've gone for play offs - probably 6th - though to be honest at the start of the season (and certainly after a few months) I would have just been content to stay in the Championship - that shows the vast improvement both on and off the pitch we've made since October! If we don't get to the playoffs this season I expect we would next season - if NP is still with us and we continue to enjoy the backing of the Allams etc.
Think about 8th-10th. I think our squad is easily good enough to finish in the play offs, but with our slow start coupled with what must be a player turnaround of around 40 now? I can't see the team gelling and consistantly performing to make up the points gap. However, it's all looking encouraging for next season hopefully were we can make a bigger impact and have a settled team
I think we have just had a slow start to the season which will cost us so 7-9th. Next season, we will go up however, i dont want us to go up auto i loved the thrill of the play offs! No better way to go up IMO
I reckon around 10th. Think Nige is going to try and shift out the old guard and use the next 3-4 months gelling the team together. Unfortunately, we have 4 loan players in or around the first XI so unless we are going to sign a couple of these, there will plenty of gelling needed in the summer. If we are back to Duke, Kilbane and Gardner next season then it'll be a struggle. I think we'll push on next year and probably finish top 6.
I've gone for play-offs. We were in a very similar position (points wise) back in 2007-08 so who knows where we could end up?
Scrape into the play-offs IF we get somehting from the QPR and Leeds games. They are a big litmus test for us I think and I think we need at least 3 points from them to suggest we can mix it. IMO I see us beating QPR but cant see past a draw against Pudsey UTD.
Just outside of play-offs. I would have took that at the start of the season, we could have done a Leeds. Next season we will get at least play-offs. Can't wait.
7th or 8th. Leeds, QPR and Cardiff will make the top 6 and it will be extremely difficult to occupy the remaining 3 play-off places with Forest, Swansea, Watford, Norwich, Reading, Leicester, Burnley all competing come the end of the season. Shame I'm off to uni next year, I won't see our promotion season of 2011/2012
We'll make the play offs, I reckon but I'm kind of hoping we don't go up this year, I'm enjoying having some optimism back in my Saturdays. As good as it is playing Man U etc... Its bloody depressing losing every week and then listening to Hanson and Lawro slag us off on MOTD!
I think 5th or 6th are still within reach. You can't underestimate how important that point vs. Reading was. We were only 10 minutes away from being only the third team to get 3 points from the Madejski. If we can keep up that kind of form, even if it is winning ugly at times, I think we'll get the points we need. Not sure we'll do much in the play-offs mind. Would much rather a title challenge next season though!
I'm going with Harpers response to this question when Burnsy asked him 'First. I want a long holiday!'
Being a nearly team? We're drawing too many for a promotion push IMO. OWS believes our all-time record for being unbeaten away from home is 13 games from the 48/49 season. Beating that is a more realistic target this year (to go with the record for not conceding at the KC)
