Back again for my first home matchthread. After a useful away performance at wolves we now have the foxes. Leicester City have assembled a very good squad under a decent manager and Will be tough opponents. Next weekend also marks a year of the sad accident of their much loved chairman. Leicester City will be up for this. 5 things about our opponents: 1. Leicester Piggott was an amazing jockey with nearly 4,500 wins including 9 Epsom derby wins. 2. Al Leicester Cook CBE former England cricket captain and opening batsman scored 33 hundreds. 3. Red Leicester is an English cheese with a firm body and close flaky texture. 4. Leicester square is in the west end of London and is yellow on the monopoly board. 5. Col Leicester al, is a waxy substance found in our blood. High levels are not good for our health. David Attenborough hails from Leicester. He once said, there's no chance I'll make a programme there. The only thing that can save anything there is Peter Shilton
My limerick: At the back we have a Gaard called Vester He said, "You're not coming through, Leicester!" But at 4-0 down, We all said, "You're a clown!" Poor Jannick said, "No, I'm a jester!"
In 1485, King Richard III stayed in the Blue Boar Inn in Leicester. After he was killed in the battle, he was brought back to the city, but over the years his burial place was lost. Then, in 2012, his remains were found buried, rather unglamorously, beneath a car park in Leicester. After archaeological investigation which confirmed his identity, in 2015 he was reburied in Leicester Cathedral.
Ooh, it's a FRIDAY. Interesting choice that, a FRIDAY. I can't understand it myself, but I guess FRIDAY is just as good as any other day. FRIDAY. @Archers Road
what was really frustrating for old King Dick was that he wasn't buried straight between the parking bay lines, and was partially in two bays, which really annoyed all the other corpses.
And whatsmore, he didn't pay his fine for another 530 years which meant he had to pay the higher rate.
The negativity on here always makes me smile. All our goals conceded are only due to ‘defensive errors’ and our lack of goals come from ineptness in front of goal apparently. Which is strange given that if no one made ‘defensive errors’ there would an awful lot of 0-0 draws. And actually, we did ok Saturday with 14 shots whilst restricting an on form home side to just 4. That said, we are a bit nervous at home. Will need an early goal or two to settle the nerves (and the crowd). Think we’ll pinch it by the odd goal though. I wouldn’t mess about with the team too much though. Same squad but maybe a tweak on the 11 that start.
I was thinking earlier about Ings`s goals - often they are opportunist goals, capitalising on errors by the opposition (think Wolves, ManU, Spurs for example). That isn`t a fluke - that`s a striker who is alert to what is going on around him, something we haven`t had for a while.
Absolutely. I thought Cutrone was going to be a problem for us Saturday in the same way but he faded as the game went on. CBs did well to frustrate him. Ings is far more consistent over 90 minutes.
Our aim with our pressing is also to cause mistakes to capitalise on. It does feel like we are more prone to them than most opposition right now though.
