We've scored some cracking goals in the last couple of games. And I really like the audio enhanced nets they have there.
Yeah but they wont. They're going to get beat. By us. (plus that's such a boring choice. Wilder by a mile at this stage for me.)
Massive confidence boost; the team doing that with Danny being rested, and the two players we need some more goals from, stepping up with two ranged missiles. I thought Stephen recovered particularly well from Saturday's dire second half. Saints had form but bouncebackability could soon be a synonymous trait
I still can't quite believe it's January 22nd and we have 31 points. I also can't believe in a world where we have VAR, Zaha didn't get sent off for his eye poke. I really don't understand that.
I mean, I know we're Saints fans, and we are supposed to be eternally bitter towards Liverpool, but that is insane. Liverpool have only dropped two points the entire season so far! That's a damn-near perfect points tally after 3/5 of the season. 64 from a possible 66! Sheffield Utd are having a fine season, by all means. Sitting pretty in 7th right now. But let's not forget this season is somewhat of an anomaly, with Spurs and Arsenal, and to a lesser extent Everton all performing below par. In any other season Sheff Utd would be in 9th or 10th spot. Still an achievement, but better than a near-perfect points tally? Nah. But anyway, I agree with you that we will beat Liverpool, so we'll have this debate at the end of the season.
So stats show the Wolves game was a blip. We're still 3rd in the form table over the last 13 games, behind only city and pool.. That means for more than 50% of our games, we are champions league.. Don't see why we can't get close to 30 more points from our remaining games..
Playing dire football, lowest goals scored in the premier, 7 points off relegation and knocked out the cups by Colchester and Derby. And people keep saying we are having a good year. Squad is paper thin, we have the 20th largest wage bill in the world, that’s the world, not UK, the the ground is an absolute toilet. Good year, perhaps not. ---------------------- Ouch that's got to sting. Some have woken in very bad moods!
That incident needs a post match review and he should be disciplined. At any other time in the game it would have a yellow at least.
Yes but you can't yellow card someone on a VAR review, unless downgrading a red to a yellow. It wasn't a red card - he didn't poke him in the eye. It was petulant but not violent.
What a great result and the whole team put in a hell of a shift last night. It was fun watching JWP winding up Zaha but the thing that has most impressed me is the way Prowsey has matured into an absolute monster on the pitch. He has definitely been the engine of the team for a while now and it's clear why Ralph regards him so highly. He is mightily impressive. Stephens, Bertrand, JWP, Redmond and Armstrong all performed brilliantly but if I had to choose the man of the match it would be Armstrong for his all round grit, determination and ability to open up the Palace defence. He has been immense since he came back into the team and we play so much better with him in there. He is a perfect example of why it is not necessary to spend huge amounts of money to bring in high quality players. That pass from Stephens to Redmond just shows how much Jack has improved this season and his defensive skills and energy are light years away from where he was. It must have been a very hard place to be for him when he was making so many mistakes and lacked confidence. I couldn't feel more pleased for him that he has turned it around and is now a 'must have' on the team sheet. We really do have a very good team and although Cedric said he was leaving in the summer I hope he can be persuaded to sign another contract, and we give Shane Long a contract extension. My only concern is Hojbjerg, who doesn't perform like he is capable of and his passing is dreadful at times, like quite often. My choice would be to replace him in the summer but not sure if that would be in Ralph's plans because he likes him. Sorry for the rambling post but I'm feeling extremely happy after that win. Seeing us sitting between Spurs and Arsenal in the table is pure bliss and I have a strangely positive feeling about playing Liverpool next week.
JWP has had a character transplant....no longer a talented sweetie...he has morphed to a 'you shall not pass' monster. Someone has had a word in his shell-like.
I'd argue that pushing your finger into somebodies face, regardless of whether it actually got him in the eye or not, is violent conduct.
