Sorry to all that my match thread failed to beat the Scouse. Didn't bank on being up against the referees as well.
I'd rather be us than West Ham or Bournemouth - and that is just looking at the table Why are we more likely to go down than them? We held our own in the first half and were undone in the second by probably the best ever Premier League team.
We lost the plot a bit after the second goal went in, up until that point it was a really balanced game that arguably we'd had the better of. Fingers pointed at Kevin Friend and VAR today - the decision to ignore a blatant penalty call whilst Liverpool went up the other end and scored changed the complexity of the game. Whilst we may not have gone on to win it, it really did set us on the back foot. Again though we didn't take our chances, you can't do that against the big boys and get away with it. I'll probably get some abuse for saying this but some of our defending for their goals was really poor today, two of their goals players where found totally unmarked in our box, people need to stop proclaiming that Stephens/Jan are suddenly a dream CB pairing.... In short though, played relatively well, 4-0 flattered them a tad, don't take your chances you'll regret it... Oh and **** Kevin Friend!
I'm not. Dry Jan is over, we played well enough to beat any other team in the Premier league, it is the weekend, the sun has been out today, I have Monday off work to spend with the lovely Mrs No7 as it is her Birthday. We may have lost 4-0, but we don't have to play them again this [EDIT] season...or as someone else said Chelsea, Spurs, Leicester etc. We can now start another away run too Life is good
We may have lost 4-0, but we don't have to play them again this year ------------ Their kids would beat us in the fa cup if Kevin gets the nod. Fear it!
Thats thé best 4-0 loss I have seen. There is no justice! Not playing a RB and moving our best midfielder there weakened our midfield especially with Armstrong out too The referee was disgraceful but that is only expected when you play the big boys Can complain about the tactics or effort but our final ball was dire at times
Decent performance from our boys - play like that against lesser teams than today's opposition and more wins will come. I was always looking at today's game as a bit of a free hit so no misery here - just an evening of food and drink to come
I woke up this morning to all the news channels telling me nothing would change for me today. I am used to winning now. ****ing brexit
For the last few months I have had a different outlook on life. There is a lot of **** that can cause you to be unhappy, so just concentrate on the good things in life (and there are for everyone) and not worry about crap that may happen - especially if it is out of my control. Instead of thinking the worse, I now hope for the best. Feel good and good things happen. I'll take my sandals off now and revert to the norm as I am about to have my first Chianti of the decade, with a lovely homemade pasta. Life is good
Still happy as we can take positives from that performance. Some really great performances. Until 2-0 it was a close game but once our midfield got stretched and we opened up a bit much and Liverpool exploited the space expertly. An enjoyable game of football and good decision by Hassenhuttl to rotate his strikers and keep them fresh for the Spurs game.
