Hi Andy, I've always been an early riser. Once awake, I get a headache if I lay in bed. This was interrupted for ten years in the early noughties when I was an all night taxi driver. Now, because of my current predicament, I sleep on and off all day, but I make a deliberate choice to go to bed at 9pm. I always wake between 0100 and 0200 and transfer to my chair, take a water tablet and sleep for another couple of hours!
Morning all.. Yorkies birthday today.. Supposed to be celebrating in a cottage with friends in Swaledale.. No worries. Determined to enjoy it today... Have a great day folks!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Yorkie I will have a drink to you later. Not into the habit of a glass to set the day up.
Morning all. A very warm breeze and blue sky suggests we are in for a nice day to be outside. Cut the grass yesterday down the fields and dandelion seeds went everywhere. There are still plenty in flower in the areas I don't cut, so the bees and other insects digging into them will not be short. Several years ago I had one muscari flower pop up down there. It must have been taken down there with some bits to compost from the garden here, but has now sent seeds everywhere and there are some lovely clumps of bright cheerful blue flowers along with the white stichwort, yellow celandines and dandelions. With some blossom left on the trees it is quite a picture. Have a lovely day one and all.
Happy birthday Yorkie - did you realise someone was taking a photo of you buying supplies for your party? Wine and Weetabix - what sort of diet is that? please log in to view this image
Had a lovely bottle of bordeaux yesterday that had been sitting in the wine rack for 11 years Another day and more wine ahead! Have a good one...
Morning all. What a change from the blue sky and heat from yesterday. This morning overcast, light rain showers and the temperature has dropped by 10°C. Still I was expecting it and cleaned off all of my cloches that have reservoirs to collect rain, then drip the water through to the soil below. Blossom from the trees had blocked the drainage holes, so 10 minutes with a brush and a thin twig has sorted that one out. The rest of the week is expected to be like yesterday, so a day indoors will allow me to stay away from gardening and catch up with sorting out some things that are not important, but need dealing with inside. Have a good day whatever you might be doing.
For those on Twitter - an interesting little thread on the Pozzos and all the South American players they have signed over the years for Watford, Udinese and Granada.
Good morning ... I have been weighing up my first trip to a supermarket this morning for three weeks. I need some low carb and other products for my diabetes and have been unable to secure any on line slots. Family have bought nist foods for us up to now... But have not managed to get what i need.. So foraging is necessarily I will be going to the vulnerable slot with mask and gloves in... Wokeup in the middle of the night in Coronavirus nightmare. I guess as i was worried about going to the shop . So many people must be so very worried. Anyway keep safe and have a good day..
