An awful lot of us are in the same boat here Flash, I picked up a cold just after Xmas and have had it ever since, the fact that it comes and goes is exactly what you would expect this time of year, but the question remains and it is a worry and will be until this virus gets sorted, we just need to all keep on keeping on mate, stick to the advice, which I agree is not very clear, and hope for the best.
Aye mate just the same built a pond a raised veg bed and now I am on painting the outside of the house be glad to go to work again
I wonder if any budding terrorists and suicide bombers are helping themselves to NHS care during this crisis. It's a shame we don't know who they are ... ... we could put them in a seperate ward and just let them die
Bugger. Feel for your loss mate. Sadly i think a hell of a lot of us will be affected before it runs its course.
Glimmer of hope Infections have come down along with patients admitted to hospital It's the ones in hospital you have to pray for I'm staunch labour as everyone knas by now But I want Boris to survive this if nowt else show hI'm how important the NHS istaff crucial to our country
Sad news mate, I think everyone knows someone who’s affected by it now. One of my mates from the golf club is on a ventilator. He’s a canny bit younger than me. No signs of it stopping yet. Hope I’m wrong, but I don’t think it’s peaked yet. Not be long though, we live in hope
Sorry Hank, but you're in for a shock if you suddenly expect a conservative government to value public services. They will pay it lip service and just about keep it ticking over but I wouldn't expect the investment necessary - especially as we'll be in "austerity" for the next 10 years after this.
Sadly, I think you're right about this. Fully expecting no extra corporation tax, no crack down on off shore accounts, and no extra burden on the super rich to pay for the fallout from all of this. But I do expect to see a rise in agency work, the gig economy and a continuation of a broken financial system. Hope I'm wrong like.
The lad who died loved his golf.. Him and his wife used to come out with me and mine and a few other couples for years, but this fizzled out a couple of years ago. I was just talking to his wife in town a week or two before the close down. Iyt was a mutual friend who still played golf with him who broke the news. Apparently complained of a bad chest last week and deteriorated badly yesterday, and died early hours of this morning..
Bliddy awful mate. Frightening to think how quickly it grabs a hold of folk. My eldest daughter is due in two weeks time. God knows when we’ll see the bairn. Hope you and yours, and everyone else on here stays well. The sun will shine again
We have all my kids back home at present meaning five adults, a dog and a guinea pig in the house together.. It can get a bit tetchy at times..
She is a grand old lady as guinea pigs go. We were working out how long we have had her and it is about 8 years now. daft as it may seem, but I will be devastated when she does go..
Not daft at all marra, pets get to us in ways that are inpossible to understand. I'll be gutted when my cat goes.
Please god I hope this bloke is correct https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/ar...four-step-exit-strategy-ease-UK-lockdown.html
The Spanish Government has announced that non essential workers can start to return to work on the 26th of April as the Government tries to restart the economy. That'll be 6 six weeks of total lockdown by the time the 26th comes around. They haven't said how much freedom of movement the public will have but they will announce that soon. This has to be done slowly and with care as we don't want people thinking this crisis is all over. By now there must be hundreds of thousands of carriers and no one has any increased immunity except those that have had the virus. I will continue to be very careful and will exercise caution just as I have this past month, some silly buggers think the bars and cafes will be open but that would be a disaster, it would be a massive backward step. I am assuming that the UK will follow a similar timescale and if you do I hope you exercise caution and don't expect your life to return to normal too quickly. To paraphrase Churchill. This is not the beginning of the end, its not even the end of the beginning, yet! It's good news and it's very welcome news, stay safe everyone. ps Has there been an announcement in France yet Smug?
