Good Morning. It's Thursday 28th May, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Opinion split 50 - 50 on Ayala Opinion on Daniel Ayala seems to be split down the line. Whilst some would not want the former Liverpool centre back within 50 miles of Elland Road, there are those that believe he could be the bargain of the Summer. The 29yo would certainly add some much needed height (6ft 3) and experience to the back four and as a free transfer surely it's a no brainer. It's looking increasingly likely that both Ben White and Gaetano Berardi will not be at Elland Road next season and due to Ayala's contractual obligations, he will be available on a free transfer. During a recent interview, it was revealed by Daniel's wife that hey were house hunting in Yarm. please log in to view this image Leeds on standby following news that January target to be released at end of season Another player available on a free transfer is Everton forward Oumar Niasse. The 30yo Senegalese International has not lived up to expectations since his 16.5m transfer to Goodison Park in 2016. He has enjoyed limited success on loan with Hull and Cardiff. The Toffee's will be releasing the former Locomotive Moscow Striker at the end of the season and will be available on a free transfer. Leeds enquired about Niasse's availability in the January transfer window, but nothing materialised. please log in to view this image Contact training to recommence next week According to the Telegraph, Championship Clubs are set to begin contact training next week (and Berardi can't wait)!!! The EFL will send the proposals for phase 2 training protocols to all Championship clubs today, with a decision expected after the weekend though it's understood that there was little resistance. We can expect the season to recommence on either June 19 or 26th. please log in to view this image Where is the strangest place you've met a Leeds fan We all love Leeds - as the saying goes. Even down here in Southampton I'll regulary be given the Leeds salute when I'm wearing club colours. We are everywhere!!! Morning all, Ayala only if we didn't go up. No to the Toffeman, all sorts of rumours about a really bad attitude. Not a strange place but went to Bulgaria in 1990, and on the beach with my top on, one of the life guards wanted to buy it off me because he thought he looked like Vinnie Jones and the top would make people think it was him. Tbf he did quite resemble him, he also had his hair exactly the same as Vinnie,'s .
Good morning. Not meeting a Leeds fan as such but a couple of years ago I bonded with a local barman over Leeds after I accidentally ended up in Albania. I was drinking on a Greek island and we kept seeing a boat arrive and depart every hour or so. We jumped on not knowing where it was going (but we assumed there might be a bar there.) They checked our passports and made us sign some paper which I thought was a bit weird and about 40 minutes later we got off the boat. It wasn't until we went through a seemingly abandoned port that we saw a red flag with a black bird sprawled across it that I realised we weren't in Greece anymore. It was basically a small town where Greek restaurant owners went to buy cheaper food. Not exactly a tourist hot spot and no one spoke English. Italian football is quite big over there apparently so we soon found a Juventus themed bar where we managed to order some beers in broken Italian. Somehow we told the barman we were from Leeds and whenever we needed another drink he'd shout over. "Harry Kewell, birra?" or "Alan Smith, birra?" I was very impressed with his knowledge of the 2000 Leeds team.
I have been to corfu and you can see an Albanian town across the water. Tell me did they have horse drawn cars and mud roads?.
Morning all. I've said my piece on Ayala, maybe I'm missing the bigger picture, but I'd not like him at this club. Why won't we have Ben White? Where did you hear this from.
Good Morning to Matt and co from a sunny Bardsey Ayala I would sign as he is very competitive and his height would be good for both attack and defence Harry Wilson is mentioned today who would he replace
The main thing I remember is how camp they were. Not what I expected in Albania but wherever we went there were men greeting each other with kisses and holding hands while they talked. I suppose it's possible we might've been in Albania's gay district.
It was about 10am but to be fair we had arrived early in the morning and gone straight out for breakfast and a drink.
Morning Shaks and all. Think its been widely reported he is highly unlikely to stay with us. Problem is 1. he's Brightons and they want him back and 2. the big buzzards ie. Liverpool seem to be circling
I think it's more likely that Ben White will end up with one of the top six clubs but who knows, if they don't think he's quite ready yet we might get him back on loan. If Liverpool aren't going to play him regularly it might be in their interest for him to play a full season with us and help take points off their competitors. This is assuming we go up and aren't challenging for the title ourselves.
Well I appreciate he's a Brighton player and it'll be up to White in the end, but it would be nice if he rewarded us with a bit of loyalty and stay with us. If we do go up, so will his wages....
Tbh mate, he's made all the right noises about staying but it's Brighton who will call the shots, if Liverpool do want him, there's no way we'll be able to compete financially, or give him the same level of football but I'm pretty sure we'd give him more game time.
Morning Mike Pool are looking to offload Wilson, Marko Grujic and Xherdan Shaqiri this Summer. They wanted over 20m last season, though they would take an offer. We can sign Harrison for 10m, and to be fair he has probably improved the most since last Summer.
Morning all. Ultimately it's the player (or rather, his agent) who calls the shots. We've all seen what happens when a player isn't happy at a club. So there is a (tiny) glimmer of hope if we go up, that he says he's not happy at Brighton, doesn't want to sit on Liverpool's bench for three years and wants a move to newly promoted Leeds United where he's already a fan favourite. Who am I kidding, he'll go where the money is.
I'd be surprised if we were after ayala... doesn't strike me as a player with the attributes Bielsa goes for. Not sure on the significance of house hunting in Yarm, quite a few boro players live there
