And why not? Any time we beat MASSIVE it's an open bus, nationwide tour, street parties, the works! Doesn't happen very often, I grant you
Was it that long ago ? I went that game, local non league team had an allocation of tickets that they struggled to sell with it being 2 southern teams, and a spurs m8 talked me into going, draw wasn't it, then lost the replay.
If I remember rightly, we didn't have an open top bus parade (or any parade) after that promotion because of some sort of ineptitude from the club / council etc. A shame really as it would have been a lovely end to a brilliant season. Best of luck for the rest of the season. Anyone have any idea why Warburton and the club are so annoyed by the start date? Same for all clubs I'd have thought, and Warburton has been the loudest voice calling for it to go ahead!
I think it's the short training together period before the restart, shorter than normal pre-season but after a longer break, being liable to cause a lot of injuries. Many Clubs are angry about this apparently, but Clubs with huge squads will cope better- I guess Not Forest aren't complaining.
They were told the decision would be made on the 4th or 6th after club discussion....and the announcement came out of the blue without discussion at 9pm on a sunday night. Heavy handed dictatorship! Another reason is that they haven't yet allowed contact training yet....awaiting the go-ahead from the govermnent on Wednesday... So only two and a bit weeks before matches...and they have not had the full squad in....or a full on practice match On top of that contracts and loans finish on last day of June...so we have to negotiate with Amos and Hugill and Cklarke about a loan extension....and also with Hall, Cameron and Rangel too on a contract extension. There might be others. Yes same for everyone....but not everyone is in the same position of mid table mediocraty as we are...Leeds /WBA/Luton etc will be accused of being bad sports...we are just moaners
Not like it's come out of the blue is it, they've been saying for months we have to restart June or scrap it.
Warburton was saying on the podcast these contracts run to the end of the season, and UEFA/FIFA have intimated that this will mean when the extended season is finished, not June as we all thought.
Think he's got that wrong, just seen Charlton are 3 players down, 2 contracts end in June and players refused to extend, and one more on loan, refused to go back there.
Really? Not good then - the interview I listened to was from last weekend so things may have changed a bit since then?
Still not quite convinced we should be that fussed, but delighted in one respect as it indicates he thinks we still have a shot at the playoffs and is gunning for it. No other reason to be so annoyed. Wouldn't be that upset if we don't extend the Clarke loan...
The lack of communication from the Football League is certainly very poor. But the fact that the league was planning to start was certainly no secret. I am still not really sure what the issue really is?
