Just got in and missed the race; thank goodness. ****ing drifted to 5/1 and presumably won't run in the Oaks now
Born To Sea as a sire has an awful record on artificial surfaces so hopefully the yard will just strike a line through that run. It ran no race at all.
hi fellas!hope, youre well today. yarmouth,3 40: HIGHER KINGDOM was mightily impressive last time out,and has an entry for the irish guineas,so he looks very useful.big shout.
Gosden 2 from 2 at Yarmouth but at Kempton, where Frankie rides for him, he is 0 from 4 so far. 2 in the next 1st and 2nd fav Nazeef and Scentasia
Nobody flagged up the 285/1 winner of race 4 at Happy Valley. I think that's the biggest price winner I've ever seen.
Nothing in the Classic Trial looked Classic material to me going into the race but something has to win them. I had my worries about the Montrose Stakes stacking up and Born With Pride drifted like a barge before running like one. Hypothetical ran a so-so race but coming in rated 82 by the Racing Post for a Chelmsford Novice win he had plenty on to warrant being 15/8 stepped up to Group 3 company. My heart sank when I saw Max Vega near the back early. I felt a mile and a half would be a minimum for him this season and Ralph Beckett got the message loud and clear today that the St Leger on Autumn ground is the only Classic he need entertain with Max Vega. I think there is zero chance of Born With Pride running in the Oaks now. She was a ridiculous price for the race and I suspect her sights will be lowered quite markedly after a 100/1 shot got the better of her today. No Derby for Hypothetical or Max Vega either. The latter horse could do better granted a bigger test of stamina but the presence of 40/1 shot Pyledriver in second place today gives the form of the race a look of a pile of something else. I was surprised Berlin Tango was only 7/1, since he looked reasonably exposed and he was actually behind Pyledriver when they first met. I can't see him winning a big one but he bested that bunch today.
