I absolutely despise MacDonalds. Their whole ethos. They've sucked in British kids , which in turn got the parents pulled in. Their own research in America told them that obesity rises in an area that has a branch, and children's consumption of vegetables decreases , yet they still brought it to us with the intention of creating habit and addiction, uncaring that they contribute to our growing obesity and poor health. I am livid at how it's getting kids used to such a lazy way of eating, depending on quick food devoid of minerals and vitamins ( of course some parents are happy to let this happen -its the easy life for them). Eating with fingers-- often one handed without even looking at it because their eyes are glued to a screen. An atmosphere that was kid orientated, make noise, stand on the seats if you like, and run around mid meal --- assume that this is normal behaviour when you're out for a meal, so do it in pubs and restaurants to the annoyance of adults who are in their grown up environment (again, parenting). ( other sensible kids and sensible parents are also available) ( before anyone says how do I know what goes on inside, I do go in occasionally because my sister does like their cappuccino ,although won't touch the ' food ' either. I will admit that the cappuccino is nice)
I've really travelled over the last decade and I don't mean flying to various holiday hotpots. This isn't some kind of snobbery, I'm just unsociable and only like things that are authentic and really foreign, if that makes sense. I've driven the wilds of Italy, Sicily, Sardinia, Corsica, France, etc. Its sometimes been quite scary and I've occasionally felt out of my depth. But the people have a real pride and culture that belongs to them ... ... our culture has been abandoned and replaced with anything American. So we've lost what we had to fast food, shopping malls, credit card debt, celeb adoration, drugs gangs and guns. I'm so pleased I retreated into my daft little naive bubble tbh.
Yeah mate did the Greek islands since the seventies When it was ozzo wine mitaxa and beer food fantastic Take it or leave it that was your lot Superb times
It's absolutely mental like. Hands up, I do have a McDonald's sometimes. I work away a lot and sometimes I just want something quick to eat, you know what you're getting, it's an easy option, but that's all its got going for it, it's quick. So why the **** you'd want to queue for an hour for one is beyond me, take away its convenience and its got nothing going for it
Yep, same here I like a McDonalds from time to time but queuing for hours and causing massive tailbacks for it...I'm baffled. I wouldn't queue for hours for a free meal of the finest food on the planet. I don't know if it's people being desperate for a return to normality or if they're really that excited about cheeseburgers, if it's the latter they need to expand their horizons.
Have I missed something I am in isolation Are you really saying people are queuing for garbage I do not believe it What has the world turned in to
These fat ****s been pissing me off 2 days ago I was stuck in traffic getting home from work due to them gridlocking the roads. Like why?!? I wouldnt wait more than 10 minutes nevermind over 2 hours. Really pissed me off! Stupid fat ****s
Our local one opened 2 days ago and has caused absolute chaos on the roads around it. The police had to direct the traffic on the first day. According to some, its been taking nearly 2 hours to get served, one stupid mare on posted on our local area facebook page complaining that she had driven from her house for 30 minutes to sit in the queue for 2 hours and they should have had more staff on to cope with it
I would have said you are part of the problem you fat meff. Still pissed off with them gridlocking the roads meaning I was unable to get out of work.
I was expecting the police / council to have to taken action, the location means that the queues as they were block 2 quite busy roundabouts. I am amazed that people will willingly drive there knowing they will be sat in a queue for 2 hours just for a burger, in that time you could have killed the cow, butchered the carcass and made your own burger!
Similarly I detest their plastic food but kids always seem to fall for their spiel. When I take the kids out to lunch its usually to our local pub or the Italian Farmhouse in West Railton (there are a few of them about), fairly cheap and proper grub!
Some folk are so lazy they would rather wait in a queue and do nowt for an hour or two rather than throw some chicken nuggets and chips in an oven for 20 minutes. I dont know how they get away with advertising a tall juicy succulent burger on the telly but when they hand it to you it looks far from what they promise. Somehow places like Maccy D's get away with it. Any other industry wouldnt.
