I think a comment, statement or anything from the Americans has got to be a first focus on an agenda for RAWA to push for. Any engagement at all to get something from them would be the first step to get clarity on their situation, as this would be confirmation for us to 100% know that they are willing to take the club on on (for me a 10 mill injection of money into a 3rd division club deffo says that no matter what anybody says). I would also add that a statement from Juan Sartori himself should be pushed for, SD and CM has always talked for him but he has never talked for himself, well I for one want to hear what he has to say about his involvement etc.
Yeah I agree. With Donald in this position, clarity from FPP would be desirable and stop him from using the carrot of FPP as a way to disguise or excuse his own poor ownership. It doesn't have to be specific about Donald, but it's not unreasonable to suggest that our potential future owners would be able to make a statement of fact about their interest in the club.
My part in bold is the crux of it as well. Take away the fact we desperately want a football club to cheer and be proud of, I would also LOVE to have a city that is showing signs of being on the up and not an after thought to Newcastle, who's lets face it, city centre is light years ahead of ours and Sunderland city centre is a ****hole. The amount of people who look at our town centre and surrounding areas and say it's a dump is staggering. I used to live in Swindon when based down that way in the RAF and even that town centre is a million miles away from ours! IF SD has also put something resembling improvement of some areas in Sunderland to a stop as well then it's not just SAFC fans he's affecting now, it's the entire area and city!
I think as well as his abysmal record of running the football club in the last 18 months - 2 years, if a regeneration vision has been planned for the sheepfolds which would create countless jobs and money for the local economy, the man has not got the football club and support in his best interests at all. He is desperate to hold on and have his name attached to the club by whichever means possible, especially listening to his last interview on total sport.
Remember the old adage - He who laughs last, laughs loudest. You are better than that rabble, so be content with that.
does anyone believe that Donald will actually lower his asking price, because no way will anyone pay his asking price for us in league one. we are stuck with him sadly
Given the approach (another PR disaster) for the refunds of this season’s tickets which has come out today, it looks like to me they may have cash flow problems? Which is why they wanted to screw season ticket holders for next season by giving you a TV pass for a 3rd of the value of the season ticket (with multiple ticket families getting screwed multiple times!). Anybody else think the same?
From the outside looking in, it certainly looks that way. Season ticket holders getting refunds last instead of first, youth team players being sold cheaply instead of investing in them and getting them ready to step up to the first team. Even with hindsight having supporters install the new seats would've saved money.
You know, the installing of the seats has been playing on my mind today thinking that should have been a red flag warning from the start. I know it was embraced by a lot of us but I think we were just blinded by (what we know now) his utter bullshit and lies.
I never thought the seat replacements was anything other than a sign that Donald didn't have any cash dressed up as a PR move, I thought he'd just be a figurehead to bring in other investors like Sartori. Worked out great.
There comes a time when defiance and pride overcomes everything, and we laugh in the face of it .... .... we started doing a conga at Watford when it was 5-0 and carried on well after it was 8-0. We outsung the home support on one of their biggest days ffs. F**k it, we are Sunderland!
