Amazing isint it.....in the space of 10 months we were on the cusp of becoming the richest club in the world which fell flat. Then Newcastle are about to become the richest club on the planet with their fanbase (after years of protest against their current owner) pleading for him to go now wanting all the authorities to sign off the deal to allow them to have the Saudis as their new owner. Come back down the road a few mile and our protests are about to gain pace to oust our current owner only for us to the have to create another protest against the club not allowing our (possible) prospective new owner to take charge! couldnt make this up could you!
Does anyone think that these Mark Campbell stories are being circulated by cronies of SD & CM in an effort to deflect from the current issues regarding the way the club is being run?
I'd be surprised. I don't know where the person who told me about it got it from, but I do know that Campbell is a gobshite. I fully expect it came from him or his team. I just hope he's overstating how far along it is
Our club is a car wreck right now, not sure how true the Campbell rumour is and to be honest I know zero about the guy, but reading bits and bobs it strikes me we would be out of the frying pan into the fire with this bloke...
So if we fold (at least a possibility) who would you follow? I’d have to go Peterborough as they’re my local club but for those in the North East wouldn’t be a simple choice...
Don't think theres a chance of us folding, there'll always be someone who would buy us even if it follows administration. If it did happen there would be a new phoenix club formed in the city and I'd follow that
As I worked in Northampton for nigh on a decade and lived a five minute drive from Sixfields I’d have to say them.
As I only give a stuff about SAFC and right now my appetite in football is at an all time low, If Sunderland went tits up, I think that would be me done with football
I think it's right that should the worst happen there'd be a new Sunderland started from scratch and that's who I'd support, if that didn't happen then I'd pack it in too. Football is Sunderland to me. I watch other games but I don't really give a **** what happens in them.
When I go to Sunderland games I see people I've known for over 40 years. When I go to home games I pass through Durham, where I was born, and meet up with NE based mates who are great lads. I hear the various accents that make me feel at home. At away games I see the Nottingham lads that I travelled with for decades. If SAFC fold I'd watch any other club that can match that ... ... otherwise I'll simply not bother. Football now is a much better product, but much less enjoyable.
Nobody in this country, I’ll only support my local team...so whatever club rose from the ashes I guess.
