We need to get him here on a two-three year deal. Sure he is getting towards the end of his career, but he is enjoying it, brings great enthusiasm and experience to the team and most importantly has been one of our best players this season. Best loan signing we have made since the mighty Papa Waigo. Probably has another couple of years of quality left in him as well.
Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl says Danny Ings could feature against Leicester City on Saturday if he can deliver a negative COVID-19 test.
assuming this is for me... As I say to my wife.... “If you’re asking me to choose, do you really want to hear the answer?” Like my wife, Kylie would have to understand, or not.
I don't think he needs another test. If he's had the virus, he just needs to complete the isolation (see Shrewsbury thread). It's more about how he shows up in training. As it was (today) his first day back I think the most we can hope for is a place on the bench.
Bertand. KWP. (I won't add Ings too, because that was never really a loan.) I'm quite happy to see us being talked about bringing in another loan or two this month. Certainly better than being lumped with some of the guys we're signed permanently in recent years.
Dear media, When previewing Saturday’s Leicester v Southampton match, please remember that the most recent fixture ended 2-1 to saints. Thank you.
Dear Media you carry on as you please, after all we are only little old Southampton who lost 0-9 to the foxes. You keep mentioning it and we’ll keep ramming it back down your throats
I'm fully prepared. Told anyone who'll listen, and quite a few who'd rather not, that we're getting stuffed today. This is my occasional inoculation used when playing anyone half-decent against the desperate depression that follows a Saints defeat. It usually means we get a result but I'm offering no guarantees. All this about Ings is entertaining, but the key question is whether there is any dish-washer news?
