Mmmh, cant ever remember seeing Shodopo defend. And before you say Little, Bowyer said he'd made a big error playing Little Smyth at RWB last week, and he doesnt often admit to making errors, a Carlton fan was telling me today
How has this formation worked well for us? We’ve been ****. Charlie scoring against Luton hasn’t changed that.
I suppose it will have to be Nico, who I agree isn't terribly good. I, too would have tried BOS as right wing back, as Kane is a bad footballer. I also can't understand why we haven't recalled Shodipo. I hope he sticks to 3 at the back, but changes the 3-4-3 to 3-5-2. Dykes and Charlie up top with Chair, Carroll and Ball in the midfield three.
It allows us to play 2 strikers, which given the very few goals we've been scoring seems a good idea, and Dykes looked a far better player alongside Austin, than he has since he joined us. The 2 of them did well together. We look more solid with 3 at the back to to me as well, our defensive play and stats have improved of late, though it had got better before we went 3 at the back. Early days, but so far that improvement has continued with the 3. But to play this way we need decent WB's. I dont think we've been **** either, in a few games yes, but in many including against the teams near to and at the top of the League, we have looked the better team for long periods of the game without being able to finish. Being able to play this formation when we want to with the 2 up front helps fix that as does a fit and in form Austin hopefully.
Agree except Kane did manage 7 decent crosses at Luton. I don't think BOS supplied one, Nico managed about 1 or 2 a game from LB, and Kakay's crossing is usually as erratic as Kane's pre- Luton. I think basically he's been playing 3 5 2 as well, but with Chair pushing well forward at times against Fulham, not so very much at Luton.
Dykes was on the right of a three against Luton. Although admittedly it was pretty fluid. I just prefer a definite 3 in midfield, all be it, with Chair ahead of the other two. I hope he doesn't **** about too much with the line up.
I hope you are both right, but we are talking about the evidence of one game, or am I missing something?
Think we've played with the 3 CB's and 2 (or 3) up front from the Swansea game, Swans, Norwich, Fulham and Luton.
A draw, a win and two losses. If we are not good enough for classic 4-3-3 (we aren’t), I’m happy with 3 at the back, hope it kicks in.
I saw this on Facebook discussing BOS: "103 appearances, 11 goals, 14 assists in the last three and a half seasons, up to today. Was surprised how disappointing his stats are."
That's about par for the course, will we ever learn. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/c...-city-and-crystal-palace-in-race-for-qpr-man/
Well, this is how clubs at our level make money. If we can make a good profit on him, the job is done. If he really is Man City level, he is too good for us.
