The reality is at the best of times we struggle at old trafford. we just don't like the bigger open spaces. The only hope here is to adopt sam allardyce tactics.
we can’t adopt Big Sam’s tactics. Klopp will love to go through too and beating the old enemy in their own ground might be the boost we need. MU would like to put one over us too but they wouldn’t play their strongest team. They will play a similar team to their previous round and bench their key players to bring them on if they are behind. Great match to win for bragging rights but not the most important of the next 7 days.
In theory they would want to beat us every bit as much as we want to beat them. In the end, team selection comes down to how much that pride comes into it from the point of view of the managers. Again in theory, Klopp should be less motivated than Ollie because he has come to the LFC-Utd rivalry belatedly. Utd haven't bothered us overly since he's been here. Up to now.
Because my team is involved in this game i feel i can post and expect some decent replies ( i know most just see me as a wum but hey ho). I am thinking of the problems your team are facing at the moment, a great team don't just fade in half a season and so many players do not go "off form" all at the same time. For a few weeks now the chemistry has just not been there in the team (i am talking about regulars), it looks like two different camps. One camp, Alisson, Henderson, Robertson (a lot of son's), Matip and Fabinho are obviously trying to drive the team. Camp 2, Salah, Firmino (though i think he may genuinely be out of form), Mane and Trent look to have a problem with attitude/desire. If Jose was your manager i would say he has lost the dressing room and they have downed tools but they have no reason to do that and Klopp is not Jose, this leads me to think there has been some type of falling out among your front 3 and Trent has taken a side. Watch them on the pitch, they rarely communicate and all of them are just trying to do it all on their own, the fast interplay and set-ups for each other are gone and so are the smiles.
I honestly haven’t noticed that problem. If you are saying that the attacking trio and TAA are not bothered then you are wrong, Salah and/or Mane may have been flattered by some interest from Barcelona or Real according to the media but they are professionals and would give 100% even if that were true. I think that game has come at the right time for us. If our players can’t raise themselves playing our rivals and rediscover their mojo then we are seriously in trouble. We are putting Ole in his place on Sunday.
Cheers for a decent reply Not saying the players i have named aren't bothered, just that link between them has gone, completely. Trent has now resorted to punting aimless balls into the area, Mane, Salah and Firmino are taking pot shots at goal and trying to beat 2 or 3 defenders to do so. The link-up and fast movement has gone and it all involves those 4. Watch the way they interact in your next few games, there is something wrong with them. My opinion only of course.
