Their loss of mojo has been really strange. I think they've got the makings of a strong team, but it's just not happening.
Benitez just left his job in China. That will go down well with the fat, bald cockneys if he comes in as caretaker.
True. Some Chelsea fans are saying Lampard has been like Ranieri in the pre-Mourinho era, building a squad that someone else then had success with. TWT, as a wise man once wrote.
Been on the cards for ages.....only got the job because of who he was, he'd ultimately failed at Derby and had nothing really to suggest he'd do well at Chelsea. Last season any time they won it was all about 'Frank giving opportunities to the kids' and 'Frank doing a great job in tough circumstances' then when they lost it was all 'he's not had a transfer window, not signed anyone etc etc'. The only sympathy I have with him is that it's reported that he didn't particularly want Havertz or Werner but still, with that squad they shouldn't be mid table really.
https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/55794158 Chelsea have sacked manager Frank Lampard after 18 months in charge. Former Chelsea midfielder Lampard, 42, leaves with the club ninth in the Premier League table after last week's defeat at Leicester City, having won once in their past five league matches. His final game in charge was Sunday's 3-1 FA Cup fourth round win against Championship side Luton. Lampard was appointed on a three-year contract when he replaced Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge in July 2019. He guided them to fourth place and the FA Cup final in his first season in charge, but the Blues have now suffered as many defeats in their past eight league games as they had in their previous 23.
Always under qualified in the diving department for a club like. Chelsea. They have won less dodgy penalties and free kicks around the area plus the directors don't like having to compete with teams who have eleven players on the field, like them, for the majority of games.
