there is so much rabbitted on about who we should have shouldn't have will do good or might do well etc etc etc so heres a poll last question is DOES ffp need to be observed or go for it!
I've never been a fan of his, and I've definitely written on here before that I don't want him near my club, but right now, yes he seems like the perfect man for the job. Really hope to be proven initially wrong on this one.
I feel exactly the same.....And would not have been my first choice, always came across as a bit of an arrogant twat.....we will see if that was hype by the media or leopard and spots!! But his first press conference was positive (which is what you would expect) and felt reassured that maybe he can move us on....... Like you, I hope my previous judgement on him is proved to be totally wrong........... Either way, the LJ haters will have their usual field day...If NP does well with the squad, it will be said that LJ wasn't good enough to coach them and if he doesn't, it will be because of the poor squad he left behind................ Ostriches at the ready!!
I don't understand why people are still propping up LJ on his wooden throne when he has been sacked for failure of his task, it was the Lansdowns and Mark Ashton who decided on his ignominious departure because our results were almost in freefall, his time was up, he had no doubt some triumphs but at the end they got rid of him for obvious reasons, Dean Holden, his number 2 was appointed, a lot of us did not agree with this decision but needs must, our preferences were ignored and the suits choice prevailed, initial successes then a stream of defeats ending up in DH being removed for failure, LJ failed, DH failed, call them yes men, the cheaper option, Mark Ashton boys but they've gone, vanishing into history, LJ & DH, I don't wish to provoke, had a combined period in control of 5 years, started off in 17th place of the Championship, to give them the benefit of doubt ended up in 12th, 5 places of progress or the equivalant of 1 place per year forward, they had to go,I am relieved they have both gone and want to get the stench of defeatism out of our system. Nigel Pearson is now the man chosen to lead Bristol City FC forward, experienced, mature, proven record, personally, in the past he would not have been my first choice but with our recent management record I think he is a breath of fresh air, he has accepted the job, he has inherited a squad that LJ nor DH could inspire, I hope he succeeds, if he fails it's down to him, he now leads the team, his training, his tactics, his ideas and style, his selection and substitucians, he is now responsible, the buck stops with him, he knows it and accepts it, he has stated that. LJ has gone, DH has gone, their era is over, some people have good memories, some of us bad ones but we have all move forward, Nigel Pearce is the main man ,our manager and his era is about to start, let us hope it bodes well for all of us.
I brought it up because it will be used down the line, by certain individuals..........won't mention any names ......mark my words!! Yes we move on to a new era, lets hope we progress onward and upwards ..
I think you are correct that some individuals blame LJ for ongoing events but I have got to be fair he has been gone for 8 months, he cannot be blamed for current affairs, I don't and won't.
I welcome Nigel Pearson to the club with open arms, providing he can stabilise and turn our fortunes around now and if so he is then offered a permanent contract and is given the money and authority to spend it bringing in his choice of players to try and take the club to the Premiership
As far as I’m concerned LJ is in the past, along with DH, GJ, SC and all past managers. I don’t wish any of them harm, but professionally, I don’t have any interest, most I have affection for personally, especially SC and GJ, as I liked them as characters. I really don’t understand why we keep referring back to any of them, some on here spend almost as much time discussing LJ as they do our present position, very odd. What ever your opinion of NP is previously he has a very good CV, I’m delighted we’ve gone for such an experienced manager and will ultimately judge him on his record with us, hopefully he’ll be a good fit and he’ll guide us to the PL next season. I’m presently feeling excited for the future, which is the polar opposite to a couple of weeks ago. Well done SL, JL and even MA for eventually seeing the light. COYR
I think people keep going on about LJ because he was so divisive and people are trying to use different situations to prove that he was either good or bad (depending on your opinion of him). There are stats to show both sides of the argument, which is quite unusual and serves to keep the debate alive. Neither side will EVER back down though, so I suppose it's about as pointless as trying to persuade someone that one colour is nicer than another - but that's what a debate is about. I have to hold my hand up to joining in - I find it quite fun actually, now he's gone, but I understand if others don't. I also look at Sunderland's results occasionally (not every game - just from time to time). Totally agree on your NP comments - sums up my thoughts exactly.
Who's to say that LJ wouldn't have turned it around this season with those players.....................we will never know!! I don't believe we would be looking down the league and worrying with that group of players and I would expect at the very least from NP a top half finish..
Pearce is the main man ,our manager and his era is about to start, let us hope it bodes well for all of us.
Wiz l know he hasn't been here long at least you could get his name right (Nigel Pearson)
Wiz l know he hasn't been here long at least you could get his name right (Nigel Pearson)
Observant, I'll give you 7 out of 10 I'll call him Nige, he likes that.
Happy with the appointment of Pearson Don't think we will spending £25m - even if SL wanted to we would be restricted by FFP rules
ah but should it work we wouldn't be bothered! be in the prem! but we have breathing space as not near the "max" loss thresholds ….
15 votes 14 yes but not many votes carried down to other items 2 coach's should have been given more time 2 votes [ from 3 votes ] Nige and S&D 34 games 3 votes [ 4 ] MORE THAN £25 3 votes [5] So basically agree Nige is good appointment, coach's could have been given more time and SL SHOULD COUGH UP £25m to go for it next season ….
