I'm more than happy for us to take Europa more seriously than the Prem but I'd still want us to do respectable in the league, could be dangerous putting our eggs completely in one basket. As for Bale, just gotta manage him carefully, won't play the full 90s in quick succession but I think he could do 60-70 in each. If only he'd played more earlier in the season we'd likely be seeing the Bale over the last few games a lot earlier. If he keeps it up I really hope we secure that second year loan though because come the start of next season (providing he gets no injuries) he'll be ready from the off rather than needing to be eased in. Could be tasty if we keep Son and Kane around too, those three on full throttle is a problem for any side, praying we get a glimpse of it tomorrow.
yeah if he keeps it up...I think he could be great for us next season...a debate for the summer A part of me can’t help but think he’s timing this perfectly so that he’s primed for the Euros then I fear him going back in his shell next season.
Yeah I think he's definitely got an eye on the Euros too but I do also think he really wants to get back to playing and enjoying his football, especially as he only has probably 2 years left at the top I'd imagine. We only see glimpses from BTS stuff but he truly looks happy here and even when he first joined Ally Gold said how the players and staff were being amazed by what he could do, which is why I've found it strange that he's played so little in the league up until recently. He ain't got the speed any more but his ability is still world class and Kane aside, I don't think any other player in the squad has anywhere near the ability he has, not even Son/ Ndombele.
Kind of depressing to think we could win tomorrow and not budge from our lofty perch of 9th. What an absolute horror show of a season this has been.
Newcastle now 1-0 up on Wolves. As long as Wolves don't come back to win, we are saved the ignominy of being level on points with them, as they've been very poor this season.
It puts them level with Arsenal. We need to be looking up. Now, we've got 14 PL games left. We've played 4 of the Top 6 at home and away. For whatever reasons, Mourinho's finally willing to use more of his squad...and we need to put some form of winning run together...starting tomorrow. I think that Top 4's gone...EL qualification may not be...if Mourinho can concentrate on building on what his players can do. If he's still special, tomorrow's the time to start showing it
This 100%. Show some intent. Start with Kane, Son and Bale. Dele deserves a place and he needs be brave with defence options: Toby & Rodders with Aurier and Reggie. If it fails at least it will fail attractively!
So what's the drinking game rules for this one? Take a shot every time the commentators/pundits say "Harry Kane" and "Manchester" in close proximity?
Alli should be playing instead of Moura. Looks like a 4-4-2, of sorts. I wonder if Rodon's been left out because of balance or something else?
Rodon and Tanganga when they can't even make the squad and Toby/ Sanchez/ Dier continuously get selected above them: please log in to view this image It's a better team than usual but still not quite there with regards to making the most logical decisions.
Rodon so far hasn’t looked convincing at all especially in league games, so I can see why Jose is hesitant to start him.
Probably our best starting eleven for the time being. Would expect to see two subs around the sixtieth minute, as is usual these days. The subs would of course dependent on match statistic but could include Ali for Lucas (to give him some more match time) and I wouldn't be surprised to see Sissoko for Tanguy (to keep him rested for the really big occasions) late on. All in all we should win this., unless the lads somehow contrive to out Burnley Burnley.
PL round this week gives Spurs a good opportunity to close the pts gap to the teams above. 0-1 or 1-1 then ??
