While we're still in the driving seat, I though it could be worth sticking the (current) main players games up. As it stands. 1 Hull City 36 68 2 Peterborough 34 65 3 Sunderland 34 63 4 Lincoln City 35 61 5 Doncaster 33 56 6 Charlton 36 55 Fixtures: Hull City: Shrews A Gillingham H Crewe A Northampton H Plymouth A Fleetwood H Sunderland H Lincoln A Wigan H Charlton A Peterborough: Rochdale A Blackpool A Acc Stan H Fleetwood A Sunderland H Swindon A Northampton H Gillingham H Charlton A Doncaster H Lincoln H Doncaster A Sunderland: Lincoln H Brsitol A Oxford H Peterborough A Charlton H Wigan A Blackpool A City A Acc Stan H Blackpool H Plymouth A Northampton H Lincoln: Sunderland A Oxford A MK Dons H Charlton A Blackpool H Bristol A Burton A City H Shrews A Peterborough A Wimbledon H Donc: Gillingham A MK Dons A Charlton H Bristol A Wigan H Shrews A Acc Stan A Fleetwood H Peterborough A Rochdale W Blackpool A Peterborough H Charlton. Ipswich only have to play Charlton above them for the rest of the season. I believe everyone else they play is below 10th. Wouldn't rule them out of the top 6 just yet.
The interesting thing there is 5 games away where we seem to have been better than at home of late...
Has the handicap ruling not reached you up there? I knew I'd **** up somewhere. I usually do. I've edited it now. I thought it looked short.
Great to see you leap in and brighten everything up. Warning: This post is another useless contribution.
I said to my lad last week that I thought Ipswich could be contenders. He suggested I was wrong. But more strongly. Hope I can remind him of that conversation at the end of the season.
Yes. Always kept an eye on them. When I got picked forvschool team when I was 10 I noticed on one of those cards you got with bubble gum that our school kit was thecsamecas theirs, blue shirts, white sleeves, white shorts. Then, after we beat Norwich 3-0 away in the Cup in 1971/72, we met some Ipswich fans in Kings Lynn. They were that chuffed at the result they insisted on buying us beers. Bumped into them again in Derby when we stopped there after the 4-1 defeat at Stoke and at various other places including a few occasions in London. Great bunch of lads. Always the result I look for after City.
Yes, you can have odd reasons for wishing a club well. I remember talking to some Brighton fans in Malt Shovel when we were both in the mire. They had years at different crap grounds, home games were a hike for a while on top of the cost of away games We had people going round with buckets that day and apparently they were very generous. One used to come on CI board and I had some good chats with him. When they moved into their new stadium I put a message on their board for him saying I was pleased they had finally got things sorted. Sadly, I received a reply from his son saying his dad had been unwell for a while and had passed away 6 months before they moved in so never saw it.
