The Netflix show has done a hell of a lot for us off the field and widened our fan base massively across the world so I hope further seasons happen
Wonder what these further club changes in the next 6-7 weeks are that Mad Bob is alluding to on RTG. Confirmation of Maurice involved?
I've not seen anything from him that has been 100% accurate... He always seems to post ambiguities, ifs, buts and maybe's.
Kyril has place in the Sun SWISS billionaire Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is getting his feet under the table at Sunderland. The Black Cats owner, whose takeover was ratified in February, is the 23-year-old son of the late Swiss-French businessman Robert Louis-Dreyfus who was Marseille’s majority shareholder. Louis-Dreyfus, who lives with Russian fiancee Alexandra Nowikovsky, has homes in Geneva and the sun-kissed south of France. But he has moved into a modest bungalow on the grounds of Sunderland’s Academy of Light training ground in Cleadon, to gain a good understanding of the club 24 hours a day. He is already doing things the right way and sees the important role now played by data analysts. Louis-Dreyfus is relaxed about whether the promotion chasers get out of League One and will not feel it is a crisis if they miss out. He sees Sunderland as a big rebuilding job.
To put things into context, some USA Investment Fund has just paid £40m for Ipswich, a fine club, but nowhere near as attractive, nor with as much potential (infrastructure, stadium, yada yada) or history as SAFC. But I would say that wouldn't I? https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...r-new-era-with-40m-takeover-by-gamechanger-20
Possibly going overboard here and imagine we are quite a way away yet but if, and its a BIG IF, we get back to the promised land do you think ( and heres another implausibe suggestion) that KLD would consider dropping the price of season tkts? My thought process here is I do not believe in the Prem that the gate money is a major player in the money making machine anymore I recall that Hartlepool sold their season tkts on a sliding scale in that the more they sold the less a tkt became. They used to average 2000 per game but at one point I believe they went up to 5000. Now whilst I fully accept that this would be on a much grander scale would KLD be interested in potentially having a 48000 sell out every week and in time (probably past my time) extending the stadium and getting 60000 there. Sends out a massive message to other teams, investors etc. I may not have explained that very well and I could well be talking out of my arse which I am pretty bloody good at but is it feasible?
Funny I was talking yesterday to the missus And preparing myself for season card rises as I expect when we move up to the top league I do see your point mate But when we do reach the top I realy think we will come in line with the rest However I’m with you there the season cards don’t add that much when your in the top league
A few more snippets from here - https://www.shieldsgazette.com/spor...was-completed-entirely-via-zoom-calls-3193518 Firstly - he was interviewed by Kyril and Maurice way back in September. “I first met Kyril on a Zoom call around September time when I met him and his brother and I think it was an interview, at least I think he was interviewing me," Davison said. Secondly - KLD didn't actually meet Donald until after the takeover completed... “The takeover did drag on for a long time," he said. "But there were quite a few reasons why, and the most significant one is obviously the pandemic. It was literally a deal that was done on Zoom. “These deals can be quite complex to conclude anyway but there were three existing owners for a start, which means you are dealing with three people, and Kyril couldn’t meet them in person, so everything had to be done online. That was obviously time consuming. “Kyril didn’t meet Stewart until a few weeks ago at the game at Northampton. In fact they never actually met in person during the whole time we were negotiating and until after the deal was concluded, which is a bit bizarre. But that sums up what we were dealing with.
Funnily enough mate regardless of a drop or rise in season tkts I would have renewed anyway. It was just a thought hoping to see our beloved SAFC getting to be a well established top half Premier team.
