Mark Warburton on verge of QUITTING as QPR boss to take up role at FA as new assistant technical director https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/14714069/mark-warburton-qpr-fa-exclusive/ From the Sun newspaper so probably rubbish, but if true I am more than happy to see his departure. Signings have been woeful, got saved from a relegation battle by January loans that there should have been no need to do with proper spending of Eze money. No plan B which doesn't help
I hope this is bollox, would hope and think he'd want to continue with what he is building. He has got us playing good football, this evenings dismantling/ outplaying of the 3rd placed team at their place with 3 key players out was exceptional. Swansea fans have said the same. Players seem to want to play for him too.
Pretty sure Les was linked to this role a couple of seasons ago, and never went. Personally, I'd be pretty sad to see him move on after what he's started to build here, but as proved down at Legoland Kew, he's set the foundations for some long term stability if the board are sensible in recruiting his replacement (if needed)
Doesn’t sound like the kind of job someone who wants to manage a team would go for. I hope he doesn’t, but if he does go for it good luck.
The most important element we'd lose if he left is the obvious raport he has with the players and the excellent team spirit within the group. I'm sure there are better coaches out there, but he's done really well since the start of the year and continuity would be good going into next season.
It is in the Sun. (!!) And based on the fact that they have only interviewed 2 people...and he is friends with the someone in the FA. Technical Director....not a very exciting job, compared to managing the Rs A week ago he was definitely on for taking over the U21 team. The article focuses on QPR will not get any compensation.. Would Warbs take the job, when he has a team to be proud off.. It could depend on whether the board give him the nod to buy a couple of players to strengthen the squad for next season

Speaking after Tuesday night’s win against Swansea City, R’s boss Warburton said: “I don’t know where this has come from, there isn’t a grain of truth in it. “I’m completely committed to QPR and am focused on the job in hand.” CEO Lee Hoos added: “Mark Warburton is not leaving for The FA. “It’s a pity the publication did not bother checking their facts before releasing the article which is so wide of the mark.” please log in to view this image LATEST NEWS 20th April 2021 CLUB NEWS Warburton: A tremendous performance 20th April 2021 CLUB NEWS Gallery: Dykes' late winner secures a well earned away win at Swansea City 20th April 2021 CLUB NEWS Match Report: Swansea City 0, Queens Park Rangers 1 please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Contact Us Company Details Privacy Terms of Use Join us on Facebook Follow us on Twitter Follow us on Google plus Follow us on Snapchat Follow us on YouTube Follow us on Instagram
We were third or fourth favourites to go down and we’re 8th. You could argue only Barnsley are punching above their weight more.
The Scum have taken the article down now, easy as that, no apology, no need to fact check, just take a punt and see if it sticks.
Amazing at the beginning of the season no one would have worried about this news but now it sends a shiver down your spine. It’s all a load of rubbish.
As an interesting aside to Mark Warburton, and his management style, I see the new prospective world manager Joey Barton rubbished MW recently saying he taught him how NOT to be a football manager. This revelation has seen him take Bristol Rovers to the foot of League One after leaving Fleetwood amidst allegations of striking another clubs manager. Strange standards indeed. Good luck with that one Mr Barton. Meanwhile ... we’ll done Mr Warburton for pulling the management and team through a difficult first part of the season to a highly successful 2021 so far. Still lots to do to consolidate and move forward again next season; as we all know one swallow does not a summer make. But well done. You all, as a team, deserve your plaudits for the improvement.
With apologies to any on here who might 'read' The Sun (hopefully none), when I learnt some years ago that it was the most widely 'read' paper - perhaps no longer- it made me want to emigrate!! Lazy and lying hack.
