I've seen lots of comments and heard pundits etc. Saying Liverpool won't spend in the summer over all this ESL bullshit. But does anyone think it could go the opposite way and the club give Jurgen whatever he wants to sign whoever he wants to try keep him from leaving ? Hypothetically if it went that way who would you sign ? I'd sign Son
Nah. I think what they've done is irreparable tbh. The ticket hikes and the furlough of staff could be seen as genuine mistakes with the not football people excuse again but this was a whole different snakery all together. Yeh sure they could sign Mbappe and Camavinga in the summer but I don't think the majority will forget how they tried to sell our history down the toilet for a dollar.
Tell you what i do think Everyone tells me i am too pessimistic lets recap our clubs recent history we go 30 years waiting to have a team at the top, i missed all the glory years, the team was immense fantastic to watch great coach, amazing Oppo fans could not help but admire i was still pessimistic i then relax and start a smidge a positivity we win the title when fans cannot celebrate it There is a global pandemic which ties the hands of the business Our squad gets decimated by injuries The club pulls a dick wad move which could go any direction now and anything from relegation to UEFA expulsion is apparently on the cards The gaffa who built all this is now closer to the end of his contract than the start and is probably wondering about staying 3/4 amazing years I shall treasure them always If it is all the same i would like to return to my pessimistic ways lol
Nah. Won’t happen as these are Americans who have now seen the chance of guaranteed riches for 23 years disappear. Why would they invest on assets which will decrease in value over the years? Tbh the only financial target for them now is not the title but top 4. The difference between making it and not is massive.
Nah, theres no spending coming. The books have to be balanced and covid has caused massive issues. Theres a huge loss here and we still need to pay for jota and thiago over time.
And the ****ing £100m stand they were supposed to build as part of the price of buying the club, don't forget that.
Thought the Anfield Road end was a go. Planing permission was approved along with the road relocation.
outline permission years ago and then a new sumbsissi nwas made wiht public consulation. the consultation period is up. In december we submitted the planning the 2nd stage consulation ended on march 5th No word on the application or approvals as of yet work was supposed to start on the scheme this summer and in summer of 2022 to be completed in time for 22/23 season In short unless is announced VERY soon that its accepted this is not going ahead this suumer. Not even sure it could go ahead anyway.
Well, let's be positive and look at it this way - over the last five years when we have won things and generated profits and expanded income, Boston Red Sox owners FSG have splashed out the same net spend per season as Fulham. Now we've lost £150m and won't win anything nor qualify for the CL? Er, yeah.. we'll buy Sancho, Haaland, and Mbappe. Or perhaps not.
