Does he plan to have a look a Ely? Will he give Jankewitz another go? Has Shane played his last game for us? Is he secretly hoping for a takeover, so he actually might have funds to spend?
If there’s a spare minute, maybe ask Semmens if he considers Gao to be an absent owner like Man United fans do the Glazers and if he doesn’t... a good follow up could be if he thinks Gao really has his finger on the pulse of what Saints fans and quite possibly RH wants....??
Is a takeover still on the cards? Has Covid made it more difficult or more likely? Would Saints have signed up to the European Super League if we were invited? Which journalists are truly ITK?
As far as I have heard Semmens is fully well aware of the situation we are in with Gao and is actively looking for new owners as part of his job. He's not going to say anything negative about Gao because he is still the owner and his boss. And at least Gao doesn't try and get involved in things he knows nothing about, i.e. the football. It seems like we are in good hands with Semmens and co, so I'm pleased at least that Gao just keeps out of it and lets them make the decisions.
Do they think Moss owes Saints an apology... There's only so many times the same ref can make mistakes directly affecting a club. More seriously is there an argument around 3 strikes and out...
What is the situation with Walcott signing permanently? Why is the academy dog? Does the club expect to be very active in the summer window based on the last 5 months performances?
I mean results aren’t the most important thing in youth football, should all be about development. But regularly getting tonked something must be up. Last game I looked at we had a team with Jankewitz, Tella. Ferry, Obafemi and N’Lundulu all in it and they lost 5-0. These are players who have all been around the first team so to lose by that margin to an u23 team is terrible
Is it about time that Lawrie Mac is properly honoured by the club at SMS?... https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/19279439.letter---southampton-honour-lawrie-mcmenemy/ I think that it is long overdue as he is the club's most successful Manager and certainly gave me my best days of supporting the Saints.
As always, the Echo's comments section display their usual combination of common sense and sheer insanity. Seriously though, I agree with the person who suggested that any honours in terms of naming stands and so on should wait until Lawrie has departed this life. In the meantime every Saints fan who remembers his time with us honours every moment of it.
I’ve left now but they asked my pre-submitted question! It was “should the ESL 6 be punished” answered by Martin Semmens with a resounding “no” as it would only punish fans and players. He was very confident that we would never hear talk of a Super League ever again
Semmens was excellent once again with no nonsense answers. Stu and KWP were very pleasant. Didn’t really learn anything we didn’t already know but always good to hear the passion first hand. I guess some of you would have watched it on You Tube
And I’m guessing no7 has had to go back to work. Shame his awesome question about Ralph’s washing machine didn’t get the attention it deserved. What is it with you and kitchen appliances?
Did anyone get on to the round table with Crocker about the academy/B team? Any thing interesting come out of there or just rehashing what was said in the forum?
Semmens & Crocker really seem like the forward thinkers that we have needed for a while now. Semmens didn't skirt any of the questions and was actually very honest. I feel like with the current financial limitations that we have, we are in good hands with them at the helm.
