I've decided to get a ST for this coming season. For the first time money has been a consideration; a sign of pandemic economic fallout. Disposable income isn't what it once was. And also I'm worried about COVID19 restrictions. But I didn't get to many games during the 2019-20 season even before it was suspended in March last year. Time to get back on the goodbye horse, as they say...
I’m working first 2 Saturdays of the season but will be off week 3 ..wonder if away fans will be allowed to attend by then
I cannot see away fans being allowed in for a while, allowing them in will surely complicate things all the more. I imagine we'll not see full capacity away allocations until the 22/23 season.
I hope you're wrong Elfs. Allowing a couple of thousand fans into EFL grounds (and probably making them sit there wearing masks during the game) is not going to fix the deep, deep trouble that Football is in right now. The FA and the EFL need to understand that fans are VITAL to football. They are the very life blood of it. Fans are not a problem to be solved, or an inconvenience to be managed. What we've just had since March 2020 is a bad parody of football. And I think recent events have shown that football fans of every stripe are sick and tired of being pushed around and ignored.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed up to 10,000 fans will be permitted at outdoor sports venues from 17 May. Who's excited to go to a live game again? #bbcfootball please log in to view this image Fans to return to outdoor sports venues from 17 May www.bbc.co.uk
This is good news, it's all steps in the right direction. By August nearly all adults in the UK should have had at least one vaccine jab. I should think all over 40's will have had both doses by then. Unless another wave of infections is sweeping the country - which I think is extremely unlikely - there should be NO restrictions on fans at the beginning of the 2021-22 season. Admittance and ground rules should be exactly as they were before March 2020. If 10,000+ Charlton fans buy ST's then there should be 10,000+ fans inside the Valley on the first home game. And away fans too. The people making the rules must understand their power over us was necessary at the time and accepted by consent. Once we are safe from COVID19 (or as safe as we ever will be) we must have our freedom back. Not granted at the whim of Big Brother. Reclaimed as our birthright.
I would say the same about yourself. Specialist subjects being beer and non league And all things small
