Not long ago Bielsa told us that Roberts was cover for Bamford. Roberts has been cover for Rodrigo at 10 because he covered for Pablo last season, so Roberts has played over a dozen times in the absence of Rodrigo. Last 2 games Rodrigo has covered for Bamford and scored 3 goals. Roberts came on to replace Klich yesterday and a great bit of skill early on cannot hide the fact that he makes wrong choices and yet again failed to score. Is Bielsa planning changes for next season? We hear him mention how good Koch has been covering for Kalvin. Will this mean Koch and Kalvin covering the DM role. Will it mean Rodrigo being moved forward from 10 to 9 to replace Bamford when subbed off? Or is Bielsa just showing everyone how he can move his pieces around the board?
I think Diego Llorente also needs a mention because I think hes proved he is a better player than Ben White at this level. Loved White when he was at Leeds but this is the Premier League and Ben is doing ok at Brighton but Llorente is flying and stopping top strikers being able to play. We saw him have Ronaldo in his pocket when he played for Spain against Portugal. Recently he has stopped Man City, Spurs, Man Utd, Liverpool. If we can get a full season out of him we can only improve our goals conceded next season. Hardly conceding since he got fit recently
Llorente is top quality and probably worth double what we paid for him. In fact he's better than £85m Maguire imo so stick a £100m price tag on Diego. He's also turning Struijk into a potentially world class CB playing alongside him. Saved us a fortune not having to dip into the transfer market. Well covered at CB.
Thats why I think Koch is being given the Phillips treatment and turning him into a great DM. From having only 2 CBs we now have 4 Internationals plus the likes of Casey and Cresswell coming up on the rails. Struijk and Llorente start for me next season and wonder how Koch and Phillips would get on together on the pitch at the same time?
It's all a load of bollocks. In my white priviledged world how in hell can sticking your tongue out or waggling your hands at the side of your head be in anyway interpreted as being a racist gesture. I hope the fans that are in for the WBA game boo if the players do the knee.
Look if you have racist intent or you want to do a racial gesture the last thing you would do is show the world smack bang in front of the camera's it's absolute comical what's being said.. Again it's people making mountains out of molehills. Newspapers needing stories, Websites needing clicks,. or the people who have no life or just like disrupting life. No story at all here for me. unless something was said we don't know about. but, if it's all on the gesture people need to get a life.
BBC and South Shields Gazette saying Newcastle keen on Tyler Roberts for £10m. It works for me But the bigger question needs to be why would Leeds buy a player from the UK when much cheaper players available anywhere else. Joe Willock, Maitland-Niles both quoted at £30m. Fast Eddy £25m, Buendia £35m, Ivan Tony £35m, Tammy Abrams £40m. I mean come on, really, how much would Llorente, Koch, Raphinha and Rodrigo cost in the UK its going to be comedy gold when the tranny window opens
Just looking at stats like I do bored shytless on a Sunday morning. Comparing Roberts and Rodrigo. Roberts has started 14 matches and played as sub in 11 = 25 appearances this season. Rodrigo has started 11 matches and played as sub in 13 = 24 appearances this season. Roberts has scored 0 goals and 1 assist plus 4 goals and 2 assists for the U23s from 6 appearances Rodrigo has scored 6 goals and 1 assist plus 3 goals and 2 assists for the U23s from 2 appearances Roberts has progressed slightly this season but his choices are bad and his vision is lacking. I believe he isnt good enough for this team next season, but believe he could be at some stage. The problem is that we're still waiting progress since 2018 & we have players in the 23s knocking on the door now. He should leave and get his career going because he will not get the starts next season that hes had this season. He could have a fantastic pre season but......
I agree. Roberts has the talent. Good touch, a turn of pace, can pass both short and long, strong and capable of gliding past players with the ball. He lacks vision. He doesn't seem to work as hard as others. Decision making needs to improve as he regularly gives the ball away too easily. I don't necessarily think he is a lost cause but maybe if we sign a coue more midfielders we could send him out on loan and see if he can gain the experience needed to improve his weaknesses. 10 million is a lot if the rumours are true though.
He had 25 shots and only 10 on target and has a pass completion rate of 72% which isnt great. I think he holds onto the ball too long which makes the pass more difficult, letting it go earlier would probably mean a higher completion rate? On the 15 shots which missed target I would say the shot maybe wasnt on and he should have passed to Bamford or anyone else. His greed is a problem
Yep. Strongly agree again. The frustrating thing is that this is easily fixable. It's simply experience. Some players are a little more intelligent and pick up on these things fairly quickly whilst others don't grasp it until later on in their career, sometimes not at all. Roberts has all the talent in his feet but unfortunately the intelligence isn't there yet. It just depends how long you can wait for that to come out.
Leeds have been hugely entertaining but have shipped almost as many as they've scored. They're on course to finish below where Sheffield United did last season so although your a different kettle of fish I wouldn't get ahead of yourselves. Team of the season for me would be Leicester if they can stay in top four. To win a trophy and get champions league is a fantastic achievement. Finishing top 10 and playing well isn't in the same ball park really.
Last game of the season, when everyone goes in fancy dress, I hate to think what politically incorrect attire fan win turn up in....
Easy to say that without knowing the facts or looking at data mate. Check our defensive frailties since we got our defence together. We haven't been able to field a first team all season until March. We have 2 International CBs out injured for most of the season now both back. Phillips out injured twice and suspended once. Its only now we are getting back our first team. So look at how many goals we’ve shipped since March and then come back
Shako, you are White! How would one address the colour of someone who isn't White? Before anyone says why would I need to bring up colour? I'll answer up front and say it's been jammed down our throats at every sporting occasion, adverts on Sky, and on social media to such an extent that I'd rather not talk to someone of another race, in fear that I accidently upset them.
