I don’t think nationality or where they’ve played before is as big a deal or relevant tbh. You can find good PL players and bad PL players from every country. I doubt that players from Germany/France/Belgium fare any better than players from Portugal/Spain/Italy on average. It’s just down to the individual and how their individual style fits into the EPL.
Sky saying we’re interested in Lamptey. Take him all day long, although with Arsenal in for Ben White, I’m not sure Brighton would want to lose both English prospects in the same window.
I can’t see City, and if Chelsea go for him then it’ll be a back line of Thiago Silva and Sergio Ramos which would have been excellent in FIFA 11 and probably not too shabby now to be fair I could see PSG happening. Maybe a return to Sevilla? Though Real Madrid will be in the market for CBs this summer now you’d have thought as well, as Varane is perennially linked with a move away as well.
I forgot about PSG tbh. Would he consider a move there? I’m guessing they would be able to offer him one last big payday and he might want to be part of the first PSG team to win the CL.
Mentioned elsewhere Villa are in for Smith-Rowe. £25m bid rejected. Signs are pointing to a Grealish exit tbh. If City actually buy Kane and Grealish we might as well pack it in.
Would be happy to see us sign Ramos on a 2 year deal, rotate Ramos and Toby. Think how much Rodon and Tanganga would learn. Sell Sanchez and Dier, use the money to bring in another CB. Not sure what Ramos would want but would expect it to be £150K plus, I think he would add leadership and strengthen up our back 4. Having said that I'm sure Chelsea or PSG will offer him a stupid amount of money and one last chance to win the CL.
Fulham, Cardiff and New York RB all joining Bournemouth in trying to sign CCV. Bournemouth should’ve had it done by now tbh.
Totally agree. Right now Japhet and Rodon are learning from the sporting equivalent of Larry, Mo and Curly. Welcome to the forum btw Allow me to introduce our esteemed mods: @PleaseNotPoll , @Spurf and @Spurlock. The first two are fine. Watch out for the last one though.
Transfermarkt rates Spurs' chances of getting Pelligrini at 65%. From what little I can tell, I'd be very glad to have him. He's a bit like Eirksen, maybe, two-footed, knits play together, takes set pieces. He's better defensively, not quite as good at scoring and assisting. He still had more than twice as many goals+assists as any of our midfielders last year, and seems to be Fonseca's kind of player, maybe even the player Fonseca really wants. Since his history of club bosses culminates in Fonseca and Mourinho and he has a release clause, Levy may get behind this one. Some combination of him and Ndombele or Dele would be very watchable. The problem is that Spurs already have at least one too many expensive CM/AMs...not to mention one or three too few defenders.
