Me neither to be honest. The CSKA link seems improbable to me and the Middlesbrough one a lazy link. He will have options though, his profile is high and is on a free. Goalscorers always attract interest.
as my post will testify from when he joined he never impressed me, in fact i was told to give him a chance, i did but still couldn't see his worth, if they had given Curry the same chance as this nakker we would have been flying
I know goals arent everything but they are important. Interested to see how Wyke stacks up against some others. Wyke - across his career 1 goal every 2.9 games. For Sunderland 1 in every 2.7. This season one every 1.6 games. Johnson Clark-Harris - across his career 1 goal every 3.3 games. This season 1 goal every 1.5 games. In many ways, like some claim Wyke is, he has been a 1 season wonder. However some of us have touted him as a £9m replacement. Marquis - 1 goal every 3.1 games across his career. Stockley - 1 goal every 3.5 games across his career. A player chased by likely promotion chasing teams. For an extreme comparison Ivan Toney has a career record of 1 goal every 2.6 games. Now I am not suggesting Wyke is to be compared directly with any of these. But to those who really think his record is rubbish who do we want to come in and deliver a better record.
My strongest subject obviously not yours I’ll lay it out for you “for each goal (g) he missed dozens of easy chances (ec)” so ec = g x 12 g= 30(as he got 30 goals).means Ec = 360. ergo…. Over 300 easy chances using your numbers and I’m being kind. Using “dozens” as one dozen rather than multiples you didn’t say numerous or a few. You said “dozens”. A definitive number
and his record without McGeady ? plus we have to change our set up for him to get a game, i've got more Motability than him and if i had Geadys delivering i would do better
This whole McGeady thing is daft and works both ways frankly. McGeady had 16 assists this season. In the last ten years his second highest assists is 9. Often he is much less. Maybe without Wyke McGeady has no end product? Same logic as saying Wyke cant score without McGeady. Much more likely Sunderland have finally appointed a manager who can work out how to get the best out of players and is a top class coach. Although that doesnt suit the narrative of some either. All of this is pointless debate. You will get your wish and he will be gone. Shame we dont get to see what a real coach like Johnson could do over a season with him (20 and 29 in the league for Johnson)
I have already pointed to his overall sunderland stats so no. Do you want to ignore the fact we have a manger who has transformed both players fortunes?
what did he do in the job he was hired for (to take us up) that Ross did not do yet ross got the push
Ross had over a season and built his own squad. If he fails after being given the same chance he will get the push as well.
well its all opinions i think i'll stick with mine, as i don't agree with yours which makes a change, as i normally do agree with you on footie matters
Fair enough mate, no hard feelings. I reckon I will shut up now on Wyke anyway. Said my piece and tried to give evidence. Never said he is a world beater, just think his record is better than some guve him credit for and stands comparisson to others at this level who are sought after. Look forward to see how we move on and up.
Wyke cant take penalties, ball gets trapped in those Tommy Cooper feet, cant dribble well, can't beat a man, cant lead men,can even be out jumped by smaller men for a header considering his size, the higher the standard of the goalkeeper the less likely he is to score, often fouls and gets carded, higher percentage of his shots are saved, cant play the lone striker well, no pace,no trickery in his play , crap at bringing other player in ,can't lose a man to get a shot off, i can go on but its he can't do anything Defoe's good at
