That away shirt you ordered may not be with you this month after all. Affected people will be emailed this week to say if their order will be fulfilled or not. A re-order from Umbro isn’t likely until October according to the link meaning general sale is some way off yet.
I think it’s poor, not like we are Real Madrid selling 10 million shirts worldwide … how many we selling realistically 2-3 thousand at a push I reckon , bet somebody just forgot to send the order
How does unprecedented demand stop them sending out kits? Surely it just stops them sending out all of the orders, not sending out none of them?
I'm guessing that the club put a hold on the original order to umbro once they realised how popular it was going to be, so they could order a larger batch in one order as opposed to the original order and then a follow up order which would probs cost the club more then one large order. OLM would probably have a better idea if that may be the case though
Nah, its just a better shirt than usual and they will have been caught out by demand. I'll be ordering when new stock is in - and ive not bought a current official shirt (HCST retro reissues excepted) for 6 or 7 years.
Nah, if they were all buying it too then we'd need to put in an even more 'massive' shirt order then Sheff Wednesday.
Club gets it wrong shock. Club turns down the ability to earn more money shock. For such a supposed excellent businessman, Ehab is absolutely effing useless.
Its not the first owner this has happened under. A lot of it is to do with lead times from the manufacturer, the order was probably contraturally agreed before the design chosen. But, if you're pinning the apparent failures of his tiger leisure management team at his door, does he get credit for signing off the unusually popular and really rather excellent design choice as well?
Haha definitely never been a buyer, just know things are normally cheaper when ordered in larger quantities and know the kind of ownership we currently have and the want to save money anyway possible... Just see it as the most plausible explanation
There was an all black away shirt with Amber piping. Early 00's, cant remember the year but suspect it was our L1 season under Taylor or the L2 promotion year before. Same problem. Pearson explained at the time that you do the deal with the supplier based on factory space and that intial orders for numbers of shirts made to a certain choice of patterns were placed months in advance. The design, sponsorship, branding, league decals etc were finalised at a far later date, but the contracts were signed based on intial orders months, sometimes years in advance.
The difference in cost between ordering two thousand, or four thousand, would be roughly **** all, so I'm sure they haven't stopped the first order. I think this is nothing more than the club not having any idea what they had and simply massively underestimating it.
That's proof enough that Ehab wasn't involved. He massively overestimates everything (wage budget, selling price, the non-minority, ...).
Are you surprised that they've 'underestimated '? Wouldn't they look at previous sales figures, factor in that it may prove popular(it is nice) but also factor in that the fan base has dropped off fairly significantly?
