I think in for now. after last season I think he has earnt a little time. apart from derby we have played some good sides. but if after another month we do not look like we are improving or look like scoring a goal, and he Carries on making the same mistakes, without looking to change things then I think he should be on borrowed time and we look for someone new. the other promoted teams are struggling and have not played the same calibre of teams we have.
I initially clicked out, but I think he has to have a chance with his best team. Last season when Honeyman was out, we struggled, I do admit though, that the players we’ve brought in as cover should be able to cover his absence. I say, every 10 games, I’ll assess & decide about my opinion. Not looking good at the moment however.
Just a thought (hopefully I’m wrong) but george isn’t a world beater at this level. I agree terry will always default to “I haven’t had my best team fit”. Which he hasn’t, but a fully fit Josh, Malik and George still have it all on to prove they can play at this level. So far there’s nothing to suggest they’ll pull terry out the ****
Sorry I should of said well liked/respected. He definitely commands respect and more importantly has the respect in the dressing room.
Do you think he has the ability to lift a group of young players when on a losing streak. Personally I don't think he has.
TBF, Honeyman had problems settling in when he moved down, also, unfortunately, it didn’t help when half the team packed up playing mid January & left the hardworking lot that was left to try & save us. If McCann can actually admit his style of play isn’t working & we see some sort of change in play, we will see a change in form too.
He lifted the squad and changed results last season when we had a rough patch so you could argue yes... I know people will point to the last champ season also as the opposite side of the coin and who can blame them. But there was some huge problems in the squad and players in the squad who where doing lots to undermine things and the team. I think the next 5/6 games are the biggest of his hull career and will determine his future with us
Reasonable thoughts! They certainly won't have the impact that Bowen and Grosicki had when they were playing! Also, Magennis and Wilks have played. And if either of them haven't been near enough fully fit, then there's surely a strong argument that he shouldn't have been playing them, or at the very least, not starting them and giving them 75 minutes or whatever? -> If McCann can actually admit his style of play isn’t working & we see some sort of change in play, It's what we've (nearly) all been hoping for but it obviously isn't going to happen. And it's one of the reasons why it's an out from me.
We're just above the relegation zone. Considering the squad we have and the total lack of investment I'd say he's at a level par at the Min. Did we really expect not to be in a relegation battle this year?
I'd say in. What with the way the club is being run, I doubt that Alex Fergusun could have us any higher than where we are now.
