Given the projected winner + scale of performance, I expect Rachel Madcow to pop up and start chanting "Russia. Russia. Russia." ,
£1.6m! Sounds so quaint now, doesn't it? That's over a million less than we spent on Carlos Vinicius' loan fee last season.
Ben Brereton-Diaz has had a street named after him in Santiago. Is all this a wind up? One minute, he’s plain old English Ben Brereton at Forest. He signs for Blackburn -and suddenly he’s a cult hero, scoring goals for Chile. What happened?
Someone playing Football Manager noticed that he was eligible for Chile. Now he's playing in World Cup qualifiers and scoring, having changed his name. He's also banging them in for Blackburn. 10 in 11, so far.
Yes, that's how he qualifies and why he's started using their naming customs. He actually won the U19 Euros with England and finished top scorer in the tournament in 2017. Looked miles away from a full call-up though, so fair play to him.

I'd forgotten that Ryan Sessegnon is a member of the squad. We really did piss some money away in the summer of 2019.
He's had a torrid time with injuries to be fair. Had a bad one when he joined, then a good loan last season where he played pretty much every week, then got injured again after playing a couple games for us this season. Like Gio though, you have to wonder when it’s time to cut losses.
You can only 'cut losses' if you can sell players for more than you think they are worth AND sign a better one for less.
