Went to the game in 1972 when Ken Houghton scored two blockbusters to give us victory 2:1 https://www.hattersheritage.co.uk/luton-town-vs-hull-city-19721973
The persistence in playing Wilks, because in the manager's words it's important to continue building up his fitness, is a real irritation to me. His most effective contribution this season was when he came off the bench against Boro.
Was it the 70/71 season when we lost 0-2 at home and drew 1-1 away, both games being on MOTD? Missing believed wiped.
Head says 4-0 to Luton, Heart’s saying possibly worse. I don’t think I’ll be bothering to try & catch it online tomorrow, pretty much like the team won’t be bothering to win.
Erics daughter Gail, her back garden backed onto ours when we lived in Kimbolton, some of the stories she shared about Eric were absolute brill. Very funny guy!
There was a football special train to the game at Luton that season. Which was strange as there were more attractive, closer games when there wasn’t one. Seem to remember us wearing a black and red striped away kit which Terry Neill favoured as he thought it made players look taller and more imposing.
Correct - some pix of City in that strip somewhere. please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Apologies, 2nd posting, but given the presser comments, this one probably belongs better in here. The man truly is deluded. https://www.teamtalk.com/hull-city/mccann-accepts-responsibility-fans-want-steve-bruce “Some of our play was outstanding – it really was – " No Grant, it really wasn't! The man's deluded.
Last time I went to Kenilworth Road City won 3-0 Going tomorrow but I'm fearing the worst I have warned my son I may well be ejected from the ground for using foul & abusive language!!
It’s like he doesn’t get that the point of football is to try and win games. That’s the formula. Performance levels etc. dont mean **** if you are not winning.
I was a bit disappointed that he was immediately recalled for Huddersfield after that, when there was a lot of people playing well and competing for places. Doesn't say much for Longman or Williams that they aren't getting game time even while Wilks struggles so much.
I’m frankly staggered by his comments? I mean, I’d hate to see what it looks like when the formula isn’t working. Or have I been watching a different Hull City side to him?
