I'd rather live in Queensland that either Vic or NSW, Eric. Vic had two thousand new cases of the lurgi yesterday and they think it's OK to open up and have parties. That's how they got into this mess in the first place. Wait 'till December 17th and we open our orders. Just watch the sudden rise in Covid cases in the Sunshine State then.
It's the place to be though, far better than the Guinea Pig State that is New South and the Wailers. I get my second shot next week, to be honest I was one of those who were referred to as the hesitant or apathetic. "We haven't got it in our state, I can't go anywhere and the borders are shut anyway, so what's the point!!" - forgive the pun. You are right though it is all about to change, hence my double jabs. In Queensland we've had a couple of thousand cases, 7 people have died and even with the recent outbreaks in the southern states the total numbers in the whole of Australia are comparable to a single day in the UK's. At the end of the day, with the high levels of vaccination, I don't think it will turn out for us to be as bad as a flu season, when it finally does arrives in Queensland. Having said that I wouldn't want anybody here to get ill or die but it does seem an inevitable consequence, if we are going to open up to the world again. I do wish that some people would look at the UK's figures though. I know we get the modelling from this institute or that institute but the UK is actually happening. OK it is about 3x bigger than us but I'm not sure how ScoMo will cope with 15,000 new cases a day, 37-75 deaths per day and another 300 people arriving in our hospitals each day. The numbers in Queensland could be about a 5th of those for the whole country and so we could be getting 7 deaths a day as apposed to 7 in the whole pandemic. Quite a change from "Queensland has done well today, no new cases" Stay safe and don't get an unexpected present for Christmas, Dec 17th !!!!!
No wonder you feel so at home on here Roger if you like to **** TV's. No doubt OLOF will be along soon with an invite to the next meet up...be warned it can get a bit hairy though
Tyler Roberts isn't the flavour of the month with a good majority of Leeds fans but he can take some consulation that he hasn't fallen as far down the ratings as u.s. pres Biden who has plummeted in a recent poll to the worst since 1945 in the first 6 months of office maybe they should switch roles to see if things improve
His approval rating has fallen the quickest But still more popular that Trump Make you wonder which one stole the election.
there is when your trying that hard to score points for them in a Laboured attempt.... but you didn't get the word play
