Atrocious wind I have lost my metal shed in the back garden and lawn mower etc, plus my greenhouse most likely, redhouse area, worst in the 53 years I have lived here. Me 3 garden gnomes are still standing though lol. Fixed my greenhouse and shed today ! metal doors knackered though
I’ve had to come down from the loft, genuinely thought the roof was gonna come off. All electrics out here. DH4
It didn't seem like anything out of the ordinary in DH7. I can't see that any fences have come down or any damage has happened around where I am.
I wonder if Roofers are going to be busy in the next few days. Too dark atm to check if slates have come off.
I live in Nuneaton and whilst it’s freezing, lashing it down with sleet and a bit windy it’s nowt compared to what you’re describing. Stay safe people!
Lost the covers to almost every bit of garden furniture and the plants have taken a real battering. Part of the bin store has broken off and am praying the roof tiles are intact
Morning all, it was a bit brutal, I hardly had a wink of sleep. We have family up who had been staying at Whitley Bay caravan Park (don’t ask me why) and the vans roof next to them has blown clear off. My son hit a fallen tree in his car coming home from work, but is fine and I have had a quick spy around outside, nothing obvious just yet I hope you are all ok and manage to escape scot free
There’s one driving round ours posting business card/flyers through the doors of houses with damaged roofs!
Bit windy and had snow down here on the outskirts of Manchester but nothing like up there. Hope everyones property has survived.
If he's a propper Roofing Contractor he should do well out of the inititive. Been outside to check. Garden furniture has been re-arranged. Bins over. Bairns Slide in at the other end of the garden now!! Next door have lost a good few of their 'plastic roof edging peices', I have a fair few of them that will be returned. But without venturing beyond my own house, SR3 doesn't look to have any serious problems. But there's time yet and it is rather inclement out there! PS Just had my daughter on the phone, she also lives in SR3. Most of the houses on her Estate have lost some tiles, She believes that part at least, of Durham Road is blocked due to a fallen tree.
Blowing the proverbial hoodie atm, rain, sleet, wind. Being a wimp I am considering giving a game of golf a miss this morning.
Well all very “ coincidental “ isn’t it . Same day as new virus variant, the storm obviously arranged by Boris to keep us indoors
Pretty bad near York, bloody fence panel down it's only been up six months. Good thing nobody was in the garden it was violent.
Been pretty lucky here in sr5, a few plant pots spread around garden and 2 fence posts rocking back and forwards. Fingers crossed it’ll settle down soon
I can’t lock my bedroom window casement because the handle has snapped off. Curtains being sucked out creating a healthy through draft. The fence and gate between garden and front has gone - I hope it’s not in the greenhouse - neighbours fence is wafting in the wind. Scared to investigate if there is other damage. I’m staying in for the day, not even going to look outside. I hope everyone else is ok.
I live in a village on the edge of the North Yorkshire moors - there are three roads in and out and they are all blocked with fallen trees. I'm not going anywhere any time soon - still the wood burner and the slow cooker are on so life is not that much of a challenge!!!
