Evening, team. I like 3 of the morrow. 2 at Sandown Park and 1 at Aintree. My fave horse in training, CHACUN POUR SOI, goes in the Tingle Creek (2.25) and I think the old boy will take the world of beating. This is an exceptionally good horse, people, and I will be very surprised if he gets beat at Sandown Park. Earlier on the card Lieutenant Henderson's (in association with the Devizes crew) FABLE , what a lovely name for a mare by the way, looks very nicely perched on 128 for her handicap bow (12.40). The old girl had a formline of 211- in her first season over timber and expect further improvement in 2021/22 as well. Meanwhile up at Aintree TAMAR BRIDGE can take the 'lucky last' (3.15). He's on the same mark as Fable (128) and to my eye appears potentially much, much better than this figure. Obliged by 13 lengths when conceeding weight all round, at Wetherby, in a novice hurdle at the end of October looking most decent in the process (form enhanced by the 2nd, that day, winning next time) and can take this before stepping up in grade. Good luck all.
Bloody hell. You know you're getting old when you remember going to Sandown to see a horse called Tingle Creek win a race that's now called the Tingle Creek Chase: 44 years ago. Wouldn't be surprised if the outsider wins this one.
A smashing weekend of racing on both sides of the Irish sea and, once again, Willie Mullins preview on Sporting Life (here) shows what a formidable array of talent he has at his disposal. Particularly good to see both Kilcruit and Energumene engaged at Cork tomorrow. The Tingle Creek meeting was truly memorable for Harry Skelton last year as he won the two Grade 1s on the card on Allmankind and Politologue and I am hoping he can repeat the dose today courtesy of Third Time Lucki and Nube Negre. It looks a pretty hot renewal of the Henry VIII Novices Chase and the unique challenge of the Sandown chase course means these novices will have to bring their A game today to have any chance of prevailing. Third Time Lucki has looked a very smart recruit in two bloodless victories at Cheltenham and, despite stiff opposition, I think the fact that Harry Skelton rides Sandown so well could be the decisive factor today. I also think Minella Drama is a lovely horse but this looks too hot for him today and handicapping will likely be his game going forward. The Tingle Creek is obviously less of a spectacle without Shishkin. Chacun Pour Soi has looked an absolute beast in his own backyard but I think it is significant that the only time he has travelled to the UK he has under-achieved. Connections feel they didn't make enough use of him in the Queen Mother Champion Chase so it seems likely he will try and boss it from the front and this could play right into the hands of the strong-travelling Nube Negre. He can hopefully bring up a memorable Skelton double. The Many Clouds Chase at Aintree sees old warriors Tiger Roll and Native River take on some up-and-coming younger chasers. I think this must be a stepping stone for Tiger Roll - it will be great to see him and fair play to connections for sending him over- and I can't see him involved in the finish. I will be hoping for a clear round from Imperial Aura so that we finally get to see whether he deserves a place at the top table. Finally, it is great to see two headline races today, the Tingle Creek and Many Clouds, named after previous greats. Hopefully they will retain their names forever and not become another marketing gig for bookmakers. Good luck everyone

Chepstow 12:12 Brave Seasca The Venetia Williams yard is in really good form at the moment and this lightly raced horse is likely to improve for its comeback run last time out. Should be suited by todays conditions and Lucy Turner takes off valuable 7lb. Up in trip and mark down 2lb today.
Yes a cracking day of NH racing at some of the best tracks. At Navan today in the bumper BIDENTIME makes his course debut at big odds. He is a half-brother to the best horse not to win a Champion Hurdle.
I will take a chance on Ranieri in the 12.27 at Wetherby. Rebecca Curtis doesn't send horses to Wetherby very often Stats over fences there last 5 seasons: R 2 W 1 Places 1 PL 15.00 Down in trip today after leading for a long way until weaking last time out on chase debut. Stable amongst the winners recently.

Proper winter conditions at Aintree and clearly Elimay didn't fancy it at all. Good ride by Daryl Jacob on Zambella and she won it very readily indeed.
I've just noticed Duffle Coat is back out over hurdles in the 13.08 at Navan today. Goes off a mark of 143, trying 3 miles for the first time and is currently 8/1. Clearly a massive step up in trip having run over 2 miles last season and former Triumph winner Burning Victory will be a tough nut to crack I fancy, also Dallas des Pictons was back to something like his best in the Pertemps Qualifier last time out. Elliot has certainly picked a tough race for Duffle Coat's reappearance.
