So Mane saying he will announce his future after the CL final and Nunez saying the exact same thing? Coincidence? Mane/Nunez swap on the table?
I have what I thought was an irrational dislike for him but some searching through the annals of my mind revealed - his willingness to give up on the Covid season, his stealing of his teammate's goal and the very worst, swearing on his daughter's life. Who does that? That finished him as a decent human being in my eyes before I even consider his footballing ability and as we all know, my heart rules my head on these things.
I've never particularly liked him and don't think stylistically he would fit the team. (Not that there is any chance he is coming to us) I'd certainly try liking him if he joined us though... 30 goals would make liking him a little easier.
Honestly, I would find it really difficult to watch us if he was part of the team. I'd take Son, who is older but not Kane. He can keep his goals (and those of his teammates).
Benfica want £100m for Nunez, Utd are after him so will probably pay it. Mane is of to Bayern for £25m. In other news we are in for Bellingham, but not until his buy out clause drops to £20m next year.
We get who we get. I won't fret it until the leaning pictures arrive. The club never listens to my suggestions. We do need new midfielders though.
We def have numbers. Remains to be seen where Carvalho slots in but assuming will be more LCM than LW. In that case we have Thiago Fab Hendo with Keita Milner ox as back up (if don’t move on) plus Jones Elliott Carvalho as young options. Im hoping with a good pre season under his belt elliott will be a more regular as def has that more attacking threat to his game and can’t be a surprise that Salahs best form was early season when him eliott and TAA were linking up Im sort of surprised Keita came on and not Elliott or Jones, just to give something different tonight. We def need cover in DM. ideally move on Keita and ox, bring in a player that can cover fab but also slot wider and then give Elliott more chances.
Thiago Fab Hendo with Keita Milner ox as back up (if don’t move on) plus Jones Elliott Carvalho Thiago, Fab, Hendo... All good but Keita, Ox, and Jones probably aren't really good enough. Jones is still young. But Ox and Keita don't really cut it and won't improve Milner is a little old now and can't last the 90 any more. Elliott I think has a good future. Maybe Carvalho too... But senior players who are good enough:. We only have three now.
Think we'll see at least one midfielder this summer, maybe two. The ongoing links to Choo Choo and Bellingham suggest it's an area we're looking at (even if those players don't come). Keita will stay as a squad player at least; sounds like Ox will go if we can flog him. Unless Mane is leaving I think that'll be it for incoming transfers (except young players like the Scottish RB).
