..... I have to take the blame. I put on my lucky scarf, my lucky socks and my lucky hat and set off for St Mary's. I thought the omens were good and I was not put off by the fact that it was home match 13 of the season. With my lucky rabbits foot in my pocket I was sure we would win. We didn't as everyone knows and it was while I was walking away from the ground that I received a text from my mates in Bristol to tell me that they had been running a tab in the pub all evening and that they would be getting the landlord to invoice me in the morning for all their drinks. I didn't reply but as we got nearer to home the lovely Mrs Godders said do you know the last time we lost at St Mary's was when we played Manchester United in the cup. I said how do you know that and with that she pulled her old FA cup ticket stub from her coat pocket. I said what are you doing with that? She said the last time she wore that coat was for the United game and we lost and the old ticket was still in the pocket. Well you can imagine I was hopping mad and asked her what on earth she was doing wearing such an unlucky coat to such an important match to which she replied well you got it from the wardrobe for me so I thought I had better wear it. So there you have it. We lost tonight because I chose the wrong coat for the lovely Mrs Godders to wear. I am really so very sorry lads. I am distraught and don't know how I am going to make this up to you all. By the way can anyone lend me a couple of hundred pounds until I get my next pension payment as I think I am going to have another pretty hefty bar bill to pay!
GODEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERS! i am going to have to ban the lovely mrs godders coat from the ground im afraid
I had planned to take the coat to the charity shop in the morning but am worried that another lady fan might buy it. So I think it may be ritually burned on the compost heap tomorrow.
Another cracker of a post, St G. Perhaps it's time to take the old thing to the dry cleaners. (the coat, not the lovely Mrs Godders) Btw, I would also ditch the lucky rabbits foot, if I were you. Obviously not particularly lucky for the the original owner, if you see what I mean.
I arrived later than I usually do last night and the parking was horrendous so I missed out on my lucky parking spot! that wasn't a great start to the night which was followed by an arrival to see the match was number 13 !!!
I feel sorry for the people that traveled all the way from New Zealand just to see the mighty (apart from last night) saints, and its all your fault Godders
