...and the signs are that they might not. Higgs has kept saying that Buckle's here to stay, and I guess the Board don't want to fork out yet more compensation... ...then Buckle definitely needs someone like Lenny to come in and help him sort out this mess. To be honest, I'm fed up with all the negative banter. He's our rubbish manager and it's our hopeless team, so let's get behind them... Up The Gas!!
agree about the negative comments, and i am as guilty as most. time to get behind harrold and co and cheer. i think you have hereford coming up soon. come on the gas , come on buckle, come on higgs and come on the pie shop men, keep those pies hot
Heard from a source who is normally spot on He’s on £125,000 per annum plus bonus package. 3 ½ year deal so we can’t afford to sack him i guess
Who ever gave him a package like that???? I could understand if he had a good track record, but he's only just started off in management .... They didn't even check Torquays web sites to see if anybody actually liked him! F*@king amatuers!
I've never understood why huge compensation packages are paid when managers are sacked. Surely a few performance objectives (eg win x% of games etc) would be a clear guide to poor performance and dismissal with no compensation.
I'd had thought any objectives would have a target date being 'by the end of season'. If so & it's written in the contract as such, then the guy has just that, til the end of the season.. Our old manager, Paul Simpson had exactly that written in his contract a few years back. He didn't reach the play-offs one year, therefore he went. Simples..
Wonder if he got it written in his contract to take us down to Blue Sq Prem .... cos thats about his level - and I even have my doubts over that! Maybe we could get him on the trade desciptions act - he calls himself a manager - we ll he aint managed anything (positive) yet!!!!
in hindsight, all managerial appointments should now be performance related. sadly the gas fans are going to have to live with their directors crap deal. you have mr buckle until january 2014. whether he can keep the gas out of the western screwfix league by then is a moot point. personally -i quite like him!!!
Start talking to your mates at Oxford what the Conference is like as that is where Buckle is taking you. Happy Days STFC THE PAOLO REVOLUTION IS MOVING FORWARD AT PACE Whereas the Buckle debacle is sending you to the Conference. Check up on the grounds you'll be visiting next season you may have a few that play on rugby grounds like you.
Not a difficult decision to make given the stats.....Other managers have acheived better results and still been sacked. Even when Rovers were struggling in L2 last time I went to away matches and supported them to the hilt however It has been such a shambles with Chuckle and appalling formation tactics and aftermatch drivel. I could not bring myself to even buy a ticket to see them play Aston Villa on the weekend The board have made some poor decisions lately and one assumes they are taking there time so as not to leave us rudderless when it happens.Higgs got rid of Penney fairly quickly. He needs to move now to allow a new manager to get rid of some of the dross that Chuckle has signed for the club and sign some experienced quality. I suggest Bruce would be an excellent Manager..........make a fantastic name for himself taking Rovers into the Championship.I know its pie in the sky Life without Chuckle mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....Bliss Chuickles days are numbered
